As an accounting student with our General Accounting – Refining & Supply team, you will be a key team member who assists in our monthly and quarterly processes relating to General Accounting – Refining & Supply. You will also aid in identifying continuous improvement opportunities.
The General Accounting – Refining & Supply team is responsible for the accounting aspects of Irving Oil’s refinery, pipelines, and truck and trailer operations, as well as the corporate back office. The General Accounting – Refining & Supply team sits within our Home Office with our Finance Group.
Responsibilities:
Monthly journal entries relating to General Accounting – Refining & Supply
Monthly reconciliations relating to General Accounting – Refining & Supply
Participate in the preparation of annual tax support schedules
Participate in the preparation of quarterly financial statement notes
Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities, as applicable
Participate in ad hoc projects
Your Skills:
Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking skills
Excellent time management skills with the ability to work towards fixed deadlines
Effective collaborator and a team player
Willingness to participate in projects and other team initiatives as required
Solid knowledge of MS applications: Word and Excel especially
Your Experience:
Currently enrolled in a Business Administration program completing 2nd or 3rd year of study with a strong interest in accounting or finance
Must have completed at least 1 year of post-secondary education and be returning to school

Compensation – The weekly salary for this role will be based on your current work term. 1st - $795, 2nd - $875, 3rd and additional terms - $960
