Responsibilities:
- Perform reinsurance accounting activities ensuring adherence to accounting models (e.g., standard/non-standard journal entries, account monitoring/reconciliations as necessary)
- With respect to specific areas of focus, assist in analyzing reinsurance results and treaty activity; detect, investigate & explain irregularities
- Assist in timely and accurate delivery of routine reinsurance reporting deliverables, and compiling information for ad hoc requests
- Demonstrate eagerness and initiative in contributing to reinsurance projects, and in learning complex technical subject matter
- Show proficiency with reporting and analysis tools

- Operational Oversight:
- Oversee daily operations and ensure efficient and effective workflow.
- Monitor and manage team performance to meet or exceed targets and objectives.

- Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare and present regular reports on team performance, progress, and challenges.
- Analyze data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities for growth.
- Implement and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency.
- Encourage a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
- Lead or participate in initiatives aimed at optimizing operations and achieving best practices.

- identify process streamlining and automation opportunities, and influence actions to implement
- provide prompt service to setup and evaluate financial reporting implications of any reinsurance initiatives

Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree concentrating in Accounting; CPA is an advantage
- 3+ years insurance industry and reinsurance would be an asset
- Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office Applications, particularly Excel and Access
- Knowledge of accounting/ledger systems, tools (e.g., Essbase/Smartview) and financial reporting processes
- Ability to work under tight deadlines, manage priorities, proactively investigate issues, troubleshoot, learn new applications quickly, use judgement, and deliver timely and quality results
- Strong professional judgment, accountability, customer service, and eye for efficiency improvements
- Ability to work independently and integrate with international team members
- Proven experience in a leadership or management role.
