Vast is looking for a Financial Analyst, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer , to play a key role in the ongoing reporting, budgeting and analysis that helps to guide senior leadership. This position provides critical analysis and support with key responsibilities involving financial modeling for budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc projects. Candidates should have strong technical skills, a working understanding of GAAP, excellent analytical skills, ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders and a positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
This will be a full-time, exempt position located in our Long Beach location.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain and improve upon annual budget and forecast models
- Develop financial models and metrics to facilitate data-driven analysis of key business issues and to inform operational decision-making
- Conduct ad-hoc analyses as needed to inform management decision-making
- Lead various research projects, including industry research, market analysis, and investor research
- Prepare presentations and other discussion materials for stakeholders
- Assist with financial reporting deliverables, including financial statement analysis and budget variance analysis
- Identify inefficiencies in current processes or workbooks and own the implementation of improvements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Business, Accounting or a related field
- 2+ years of Experience in financial modeling and analysis using Excel or Google Sheets
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Highly analytical with a strong understanding of quantitative methods and attention to precision
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate challenges from multiple perspectives
- Strong written and oral communication skills to drive consensus across teams
- Able to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
- Experience in critical thinking to develop grounded recommendations and optimize impact
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to travel up to 25% if required
- Flexible availability to support critical project milestones as needed
Pay Range:
- Financial Analyst L2: $80,000 - $120,000
- Senior Financial Analyst L3: $95,000 - $145,000

Base salary will vary depending on job-related knowledge, education, skills, experience, business needs, and market demand. Salary is just one component of our comprehensive compensation package.
