Requires technical engineering experience, project leadership, product lifecycle expertise, and familiarity with project management tools.

Responsible for avionics systems engineering across spacecraft design, integration, testing, launch, and operations. Defines system architectures, interfaces, requirements, budgets, fault tolerance, verification plans, and autonomous behaviors. Supports vehicle health monitoring, troubleshooting, risk assessment, configuration management, reliability improvements, and production process development. Collaborates cross-functionally, mentors engineers, and travels up to 10% to launch sites and test facilities.

Manage demand, supply, and fulfillment planning for avionics and electronic hardware. Maintain BOMs and master data, coordinate with stakeholders, drive procurement and production releases, update forecasts for ECOs, monitor obsolescence and lead times, and produce reporting (LOB, shortage, Clear-to-Build) to ensure material readiness.

Leads U.S. commercial business development and commercialization for Vast satellite platforms across communications, Earth observation, sensing, and in-orbit compute. Develops market strategy, customer and prime-contractor relationships, opportunity pipelines, capture plans, proposals, forecasts, and partnerships. Owns senior customer engagement, contract negotiation, and closure of satellite platform deals ranging from millions to hundreds of millions of dollars, while coordinating cross-functional teams and representing Vast at industry events.

Design and build full-stack web applications, backend APIs, data models, pipelines, developer tooling, and platforms for mission and flight software systems. Develop interfaces with flight software and simulations, support test automation and continuous deployment, and establish scalable engineering practices for a growing software organization.

Design, analyze, build, and test mechanical mechanisms for spacecraft solar array deployment and articulation. Responsibilities include torque budgeting, drivetrain and bearing selection, life analysis, environmental testing, failure investigation, and cross-functional system integration. The role supports design reviews, FMEA/FMECA, NASA deliverables, and mission-critical testing for human-rated space stations.

Develops and documents system safety analyses for human-rated space stations and spacecraft. Partners with engineering teams to identify hazards, assess failure tolerance, define risk controls, evaluate crew survivability and human error, support range safety compliance, and communicate safety outcomes during design reviews. The role also assesses compliance with NASA, FAA, MIL-STD-882, and ARP-4761 standards while supporting design improvements that reduce risk to people and property.

Owns qualification and verification testing for spacecraft solar arrays, including environmental, functional, electrical, and lifecycle testing. Develops test plans, procedures, instrumentation requirements, and reports; coordinates internal and external test campaigns; analyzes data and leads failure investigations. The role collaborates across engineering disciplines, supports test facility and GSE development, applies aerospace standards, and presents readiness reviews and results throughout the product lifecycle.

Build and own satellite assembly, integration, and test processes from development units through rate production. Define test philosophies, plans, procedures, verification methods, environmental testing, and mechanical/electrical ground support equipment. Lead spacecraft integration campaigns, troubleshoot failures, manage test data, improve repeatability, and support design-for-manufacture and design-for-test. Collaborate with structures, avionics, thermal, power, GNC, and flight software teams in an on-site, hands-on clean-room environment.

Own the end-to-end power system for high-power satellites, including architecture, requirements, energy modeling, verification, validation, failure analysis, integration, testing, launch readiness, and documentation. Drive multidisciplinary design decisions, define power modes and budgets, troubleshoot vehicle-level issues, and ensure reliable, modular spacecraft power designs. The role requires spacecraft electrical systems experience, high-voltage power expertise, lifecycle development knowledge, and up to 10% travel for launch campaigns.

Develops and manages electronic parts control plans and databases for human-rated space stations and high-power satellites. Responsibilities include vendor and part qualification, reliability analysis, component selection and derating guidance, failure analysis, radiation and survivability considerations, and collaboration across engineering, quality, and supply chain teams. The role also tailors aerospace standards, supports configuration and quality practices, and may require up to 10% travel and overtime during mission milestones.

Leads and scales Vast’s Demand Planning organization for complex space-station development and production programs. Owns demand and sparing strategies, MRP processes, BOM analysis, inventory planning, shortage management, material readiness, planning systems, KPIs, and executive reporting. Partners with Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Inventory, Finance, and Program teams to mitigate material risks and support critical milestones. Builds organizational capability, processes, systems, training, and talent plans in a rapidly growing hardware manufacturing environment.

Supervise integration technicians and daily shift activities for aerospace flight hardware builds. Manage workforce allocation, shift handoffs, training, workflow execution, and milestone delivery. Oversee structural assembly, pneumatic and fluid routing, avionics harness installation, and component mating while enforcing engineering instructions, drawings, safety, ESD, and aerospace quality standards. Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering to resolve blockers, non-conformances, and improve tooling and work instructions.

Designs and maintains Python-based automated test systems for flight-critical avionics hardware. Responsibilities include integrating instrumentation and data acquisition equipment, managing test software through qualification and acceptance, troubleshooting anomalies, performing root cause analysis, documenting systems, enhancing automation frameworks, conducting code reviews, and collaborating with hardware, avionics, and test engineering teams. The role supports human-rated space station systems and may require evening or weekend work during mission milestones.

Build, architect, and maintain Vast’s high-performance computing infrastructure for aerospace engineering analysis. Responsibilities include cluster lifecycle management, patching, performance optimization, reliability, application and user onboarding, and integration with NX/Teamcenter design workflows. The role supports engineering teams using structural, mechanical, dynamic, and computational fluid dynamics analyses, while leading HPC initiatives from concept through production deployment.

Manages the Avionics and Power Systems Engineering team developing human-rated space station and satellite systems. Responsibilities include hiring and mentoring engineers, defining system architecture and fault management strategies, leading requirements decomposition, FMECA, verification and validation campaigns, configuration control, interface documentation, and integration and test activities. The role also drives technical decisions, milestone documentation, and cross-functional execution for complex aerospace programs.

Supports hands-on engine assembly, integration, testing, and transition from development to production. Creates assembly procedures, manufacturing plans, work instructions, and test plans; collaborates with design teams and technicians; resolves shop-floor blockers and nonconformances; procures tooling; and drives continuous improvement in aerospace engine manufacturing.

Lead end-to-end proposal development for high-power satellite bus opportunities supporting defense, intelligence, Space Force, and commercial customers. Own win strategies, schedules, compliance matrices, proposal volumes, color team reviews, and cross-functional coordination across engineering, business development, legal, contracts, finance, and leadership. Manage classified proposal efforts in SCIFs, support negotiations and awards, and improve proposal processes. The role requires extensive defense proposal experience, satellite mission systems knowledge, and TS/SCI clearance eligibility.
