Job Description:
Working as a member of the Financial Services team, the incumbent provides analytical assistance in the various activities of the College, including the month end close process, the contingency process, the review and preparation of journal entries and uploads and balance sheet account reconciliations. The incumbent is the first point of review for monthly and weekly journal uploads which come from all areas of the College. The incumbent prepares internal College invoices as required. The incumbent assists in the fiscal year-end financial processes and assists with the preparation of financial statements and reports (scheduled and ad-hoc) throughout the year, as well as the development and implementation of internal financial and operational controls and procedures. The incumbent also participates in the preparation of the annual audit file and performs cost audits at the fiscal year end. The incumbent acts as a financial analyst and consultant to all areas of the College and prepares financial and operational reports to meet the information needs of management, as well as external stakeholders. The analyst provides backup coverage for other financial analysts within the department.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum three (3) year diploma / degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance;
Minimum three (3) years of progressive experience in Finance/Accounting area including experience with financial year end processes, annual and quarterly budget reviews, financial variance reporting and analysis.
