The Field Learning & Practice Management Initiatives Strategy Lead is responsible for shaping and advancing strategic initiatives that strengthen advisor capability, productivity, and long-term practice success across New York Life's Field Experience (FX) value stream.
This role focuses on defining and activating strategy across field learning, development, and practice management, ensuring advisors and field leaders are equipped with the right skills, tools, and operating models to grow sustainable, high-performing practices. The role partners closely with Field Operations, Productivity, Learning, Product, and Technology teams to translate strategic priorities into scalable initiatives with measurable impact.What You'll Do:
Field Learning & Development Strategy• Define strategic priorities for field learning and development aligned to FX and enterprise growth objectives.• Shape learning strategies that support advisor onboarding, development, productivity, and leadership effectiveness.• Partner with learning and enablement teams to ensure learning experiences are practical, role-based, and embedded in advisor workflows.• Support evolution of learning delivery models, including digital, in-field, and hybrid approaches.
Practice Management Strategy• Lead strategy development for practice management initiatives focused on advisor productivity, scalability, and sustainability.• Define best practices and frameworks that support practice growth, team-based models, client segmentation, and business planning.• Ensure practice management initiatives align with advisor teaming, collaboration, and succession strategies.• Partner with field leadership to validate strategies against real-world advisor needs and constraints.
Initiative Design & Activation• Translate strategy into clear initiative charters, success metrics, and execution roadmaps.• Support activation of initiatives in partnership with program management, product, and operations teams.• Ensure initiatives are designed for scale and adoption across diverse field environments.
Measurement & Continuous Improvement• Define KPIs and success measures tied to advisor capability, productivity, and engagement.• Monitor performance and adoption of learning and practice management initiatives.• Use insights and field feedback to refine strategy and recommend enhancements.
Cross-Functional Partnership & Governance• Partner across FX, Technology, Product, Data, and Distribution to ensure alignment and coordinated delivery.• Support governance forums, leadership updates, and strategic decision-making.• Act as a strategic advisor to senior leaders on learning and practice management priorities.
What You'll Bring:
• Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree a plus• 5-8+ years of experience in strategy, field enablement, learning, practice management, or financial services roles• Experience designing or supporting advisor learning, development, or practice management initiatives• Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills• Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and execution skills• Ability to translate complex concepts into practical, scalable solutions• Strong communication skills including experience in developing executive level presentations• Collaborative work style and leadership presence with ability to effectively interact and earn trust of peers and senior management across the organization• Self-starter with a passion to deliver results

Pay Transparency
Salary Range: $119,000-$160,000
Overtime eligible: Exempt
Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes
Sales bonus eligible: No
Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
