As a Project Engineering Student within our Engineering Services team, you will work with a dynamic and cross functional group to support the management of multi-million-dollar projects at our Saint John Refinery and Canadian terminals. The successful candidate will work with a Project Engineer to manage both technical and engineering aspects through the different phases of executing projects.
This is a great opportunity to gain exposure to multi-disciplinary project development including planning, scheduling, costs and collaborating with internal and external engineering teams.
The Project Engineering team is responsible for managing and executing our engineering projects from start to finish to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operation of our facilities. The team is based out of our Home Office with our broader Engineering Services team.
Responsibilities:
Help prepare schedules, timelines and resource plans for engineering projects
Support with updating project documentation and progress tracking of milestones
Assist in preparing reports for project performance metrics
Work with Project Engineers on technical tasks such as reviewing drawings, specifications, and ensuring compliance
Use tools like AutoCAD for basic design or layout updates
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external contractors to ensure smooth project execution
Your Skills:
Skilled in relationship management and comfortable working with cross-functional teams
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Teams
Adaptable and fluid with change, able to pivot as project needs evolve
Open to feedback and capable of critical thinking
Experience using AutoCAD is an asset
Your Experience:
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program – Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering at an accredited post-secondary institution and returning to school after the work term.
