As a Project Controls Student, you will be part of the Project Execution Team that belongs to our larger Engineering Services department, located within our Irving Oil Home Office in Saint John. The Project Controls team is responsible for reporting, schedule management, and data as it relates to large-scale continuous improvement initiatives.
As a student in this role, your focus will be on data management and gaining a deep understanding of the processes that drive engineering work. You will explore how data informs decision-making and how engineering tasks are executed, with a strong emphasis on continuous improvement. The core goal of this team is to ensure the processes that drive our projects are well evolved, effective, and efficient.
Responsibilities:
Support Power BI dashboard development and data visualization for project reporting
Assist with data management tasks using Microsoft Suite tools (Excel, SharePoint, etc.)
Contribute to process improvement initiatives by analyzing workflows and project data
Your Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and other Microsoft Suite applications
Strong analytical and data management skills
Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively
Interest in understanding the full lifecycle of projects
Detail-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset
Your Experience:
Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Business, Accounting, or a related field
Demonstrated interest in software design
Must have completed at least one year of post-secondary education and be returning to school
