About Us
At Cloudflare, we are on a mission to help build a better Internet. Today the company runs one of the world's largest networks that powers millions of websites and other Internet properties for customers ranging from individual bloggers to SMBs to Fortune 500 companies. Cloudflare protects and accelerates any Internet application online without adding hardware, installing software, or changing a line of code. Internet properties powered by Cloudflare all have web traffic routed through its intelligent global network, which gets smarter with every request. As a result, they see significant improvement in performance and a decrease in spam and other attacks. Cloudflare was named to Entrepreneur Magazine's Top Company Cultures list and ranked among the World's Most Innovative Companies by Fast Company.
At Cloudflare, we're not looking for people who wait for a polished roadmap; we're looking for the builders who see the cracks in the Internet that everyone else has simply learned to live with. We value candidates who have the instinct to spot a "normalized" problem and the AI-native curiosity to create a solution using the latest tools. Our culture is built on iteration, leveraging AI to ship faster today to make it better tomorrow, while ensuring that every improvement, no matter how small, is shared across the team to lift everyone up. If you're the type of person who values curiosity over bureaucracy, and that AI is a partner in solving tough problems to keep the Internet moving forward, you'll fit right in.

About the role
Our centralized Developer Go-to-Market (GTM) organization functions as a "speedboat" to maintain focus, control direction, and iterate quickly. Our mission is to build long-term relationships with developers by addressing their unique needs and challenges with specialized attention and resources across Marketing, Developer Relations, Growth Programs, and Sales.
Within Developer GTM, the Revenue Engineering team exists to build and evolve GTM infrastructure to support Cloudflare's transition into a major cloud provider and drive Cloudflare's AI transformation. We operate across data platform development, application platforms, core pipeline evolution, and novel internal product delivery enabling teams across the organization to move fast without accumulating unmaintainable technical debt.
What You'll Do
As a hands-on "player-coach" Engineering Manager on the Revenue Engineering team, you will balance technical leadership with direct execution, actively writing code, building pipelines, prototyping novel GTM applications, and debugging alongside your team. You will lead, coach, and grow a team of high-performing software and data engineers building mission-critical GTM software, data platforms, and internal developer tools on top of Cloudflare's own developer platform (Workers, Kubernetes, Go, TypeScript, SQL, and MCP). You will take ownership of our core platform strategy, balancing fast-paced feature delivery with platform maintainability, data integrity, and operational excellence.
In this role, you will:
  • Lead and Grow Engineering Talent (Player-Coach Model): Recruit, mentor, and develop a diverse team of talented software and data engineers while leading by example through active code contributions, hands-on technical guidance, and unblocking engineers directly in the codebase.
  • Architect & Build Platform Primitives: Set the technical vision and actively write code for our GTM Data Platform, App Platform, and Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations in Go and TypeScript, enabling internal teams to build and scale maintainable solutions.
  • Prototype & Deliver High-Impact Applications: Directly build and prototype novel GTM applications (Signals, Customer Health, Cost Explorer), evolve core pipelines (Salesforce enrichment, customer contact ingestion, real-time consumption billing visibility), and implement data infrastructure migrations.
  • Empower & Advise Business Builders: Act as a technical advisor and partner to non-technical teams, teaching them to self-serve using supported platform primitives rather than creating isolated, unmaintainable silos.
  • Drive Operational & Engineering Excellence: Establish best practices for service observability, testing, schema evolution, and deployment while mitigating bus-factor risks and single points of failure across legacy and new systems.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with leaders across Sales, Marketing, Developer Relations, BI, Security, and Product to align on business priorities, unblock dependencies, and turn complex business challenges into reliable software solutions.
Examples of Desirable Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
  • Hands-on Experience: Minimum 8 years of relevant software engineering experience, including at least 3 years in a formal engineering management or technical leadership role with a strong track record of remaining hands-on in the code.
  • Technical Depth & Contribution: Strong background writing production code and debugging distributed systems, data pipelines, and web APIs across Go, TypeScript, Workers, Kubernetes, SQL, and MCP.
  • Leadership & Team Building: Proven track record of recruiting, coaching, and developing senior technical talent while fostering an inclusive, high-trust engineering culture.
  • Platform & Systems Ownership: Experience owning end-to-end service lifecycles, operational monitoring, incident management, and architectural strategy for complex internal or external platforms.
  • Pragmatic Business Execution: Ability to navigate ambiguous problem spaces, balance rapid prototyping ("learning mode") with scalable platform architecture ("scale mode"), and translate business needs into robust technical roadmaps.
  • Cross-Functional Communication: Exceptional collaboration skills with a track record of partnering effectively with non-technical business partners, GTM stakeholders, and executive leadership.
    Bonus Points
  • Cloudflare Developer Platform: Experience building on or integrating with Cloudflare Workers, edge computing platforms, or serverless architectures.
  • GTM & Growth Systems: Background in SaaS, Product-Led Growth (PLG) motions, sales analytics, or working with CRM/marketing automation integrations (Salesforce, Marketo).
  • Applied AI & MCP: Hands-on experience developing Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers, LLM/AI integrations, or AI-driven developer workflow automation.
  • Data Platform Scale: Experience with modern columnar databases / lakehouses (ClickHouse, DuckDB, BigQuery, Snowflake, Iceberg) or analytics engineering workflows.

Project Galileo: Since 2014, we've equipped more than 2,400 journalism and civil society organizations in 111 countries with powerful tools to defend themselves against attacks that would otherwise censor their work, technology already used by Cloudflare's enterprise customers--at no cost.
Athenian Project: In 2017, we created the Athenian Project to ensure that state and local governments have the highest level of protection and reliability for free, so that their constituents have access to election information and voter registration. Since the project, we've provided services to more than 425 local government election websites in 33 states.
1.1.1.1: We released 1.1.1.1 to help fix the foundation of the Internet by building a faster, more secure and privacy-centric public DNS resolver. This is available publicly for everyone to use - it is the first consumer-focused service Cloudflare has ever released. Here's the deal - we don't store client IP addresses never, ever. We will continue to abide by our privacy commitment and ensure that no user data is sold to advertisers or used to target consumers.
