Job Summary
Engineer 2, IS Solutions Software Development is responsible for developing, integrating, and supporting software solutions that improve business processes and operational efficiency. This role focuses on Python application development, API integrations, automation solutions, and AI-enabled capabilities. You will design, develop, test, and maintain Python-based applications and services while collaborating with business analysts, stakeholders, and senior engineers to deliver reliable and scalable solutions. The role includes supporting application integrations, troubleshooting production issues, implementing monitoring and logging practices, and contributing to software development lifecycle activities.
Job Description
Core Responsibilities

• Develops, tests, and maintains Python-based applications, automation solutions, and backend services.

• Creates and supports integrations between enterprise applications, APIs, databases, and internal systems.

• Collaborates with business and technical stakeholders to translate business requirements into functional software solutions.

• Troubleshoots application defects, performance issues, and integration failures while implementing effective resolutions.

• Develops and maintains REST API integrations and data exchange processes.

• Implements logging, monitoring, and alerting capabilities to improve application reliability and supportability.

• Supports containerized workloads and performs basic Kubernetes activities such as reviewing deployments, troubleshooting pods, and analyzing application logs.

• Participates in software testing, code reviews, deployment activities, and change management processes.

• Develops and maintains technical documentation, support materials, and operational procedures.

• Assists with application security, configuration management, and secrets management following established standards.

• Supports production applications and responds to application incidents and operational issues.

• Contributes to AI-enabled solutions through the integration of large language model (LLM) APIs and related technologies.

• Provides development estimates and status updates for assigned projects and enhancements.

• Follows established SDLC, coding standards, and development best practices.
