Brown & Brown is seeking a EDM Architect to join our growing team!
This role will act as a technical expert for the creation, management, and extraction of data for Brown & Brown’s National Pharmacy Team, blending strategic EDM architectural leadership with hands-on development responsibilities. The EDM Architect will actively contribute to the design and implementation of data solutions, perform peer code reviews, and mentor junior team members to foster technical excellence and team growth. Working closely with the Analytics, Operations, and Software Development teams, the architect will help deliver innovative data integration solutions and extracts that drive actionable customer insights.
How You Will Contribute:
Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration solutions using Azure Data Factory and other Azure services, following established architectural patterns.
Develop and maintain ETL pipelines to support diverse business needs, including structured and unstructured data loads into the Data Lakehouse.
Write and optimize SQL scripts to support business users by creating and enhancing data deliverables.
Partner with EDM developers, analysts, and cross-functional teams (Analytics, Operations, Software Development) to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Apply quality assurance practices to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all deliverables.
Enforce adherence to departmental procedures, including source control, release management, and change management protocols.
Ensure compliance with data governance standards and security policies, including handling of Electronic Protected Health Information (PHI).
Conduct peer code reviews to uphold coding standards and architectural guidelines.
Mentor junior developers and data engineers, promoting a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
Lead knowledge-sharing initiatives and contribute to internal documentation and training resources.
Skills and Experience to be Successful:
Computer Science Degree of related fields OR direct applicable experience in an enterprise environment.
4+ years of working with ETL tools in an enterprise environment.
4+ years of direct experience using SQL Server with advanced knowledge in relational database querying.
Experience with Azure Data Factory including pipeline orchestration & data flows.
Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and data warehousing concepts.
Previous experience working in the pharmacy industry. Preferred
Worked in a Scrum and or Kanban based team. Preferred
Comfortable using MS Teams, chat, channels, and integration with SharePoint for communications and collaboration. Preferred
Pay Range
$115,000 - $130,000 AnnualThe pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
