Job Purpose: The Document Specialist position is responsible for managing IRIS program document submission inboxes, creating work requests to provide work for other teams, reviewing documents, and effectively communicating with customers and co-workers.

• Reviews and provides documents to proper departments for ongoing processing
• Locates and saves documents for record retention purposes
• Effectively manages escalation within the department by ensuring appropriate accountability, sense of urgency, communication, and follow through to closure
• Responsible for suggesting methods to improve area operations, efficiency, and service to both internal and external customers
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure and Credentials: (Where appropriate, education and/or experience may be substituted)

Minimum Required Education: High School Diploma/GED is required
Minimum Required Experience: Previous experience in a detail-oriented, multiple-systems role preferred

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
• Moderate knowledge of PC software and ability to learn new software
• Ability and desire to cross-train, learn the work of other departmental staff in an effort to provide an effective back-up when needed
• Maintain a high energy level that is focused on completing departmental and agency goals in a professional and timely manner
• Attention to Detail - Diligently attends to details and pursues quality in accomplishing tasks.
• Teamwork - Promotes cooperation and commitment within a team to achieve goals and deliverables.

Physical Requirements, Visual Acuity, and Work Conditions:
Physical Requirements: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
Visual Acuity: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data, reviewing emails; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal.
Working Conditions: None: The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.

Skills Required
