Purpose:

We are seeking a Director, Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) to play a pivotal role in analyzing, forecasting, and optimization of Athene’s financial profile. This role will support the financial planning process, guiding strategic decisions that enhance the profitability and sustainability of one of the world’s largest retirement solutions companies. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and will have exceptional analytical skills and a proven track record of working with cross-functional teams to drive financial performance and strategic initiatives.

Accountabilities:

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of Athene’s financial performance, providing actionable insights to drive business decisions
  • Build and institutionalize analytics to explain and attribute variances in Spread Related Earnings (SRE) and key performance indicators (KPIs) relative to expectations
  • Maintain ownership of the enterprise-level forecast model, which is relied on by key stakeholders as the source of truth for Athene’s expected financial performance
  • Partner cross-functionally with stakeholders across Athene (Finance, Actuarial, Risk, Treasury/Capital Management, Corporate Development, IT) and Apollo to support various initiatives

  • Engage directly with subject matter experts to bridge the gap between complex underlying drivers and financial results

  • Support Athene and Apollo senior management with high-quality presentations, materials, and analyses to inform strategic decision making


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or other advanced degree is a plus
  • Progress toward actuarial (e.g., FSA) and/or financial designations (e.g., CFA) strongly preferred
  • 7+ years of professional experience in FP&A, insurance, actuarial, investment banking, corporate development, private equity, consulting, or related work experience
  • Advanced financial modeling capabilities (e.g., Excel, financial forecasting software) and problem solving skills, with ability to design, build, and maintain complex analyses and executive-ready materials
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with ability to translate highly technical concepts into clear, actionable insights
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and quality
  • Demonstrated ownership mindset with a track record of leading complex, end-to-end initiatives
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, unstructured environment, balancing ongoing business needs with high-priority, ad hoc requests
