Why FareHarbor?
Founding FareHarbor required unwavering passion. We encourage everyone to bring their whole selves to work—to believe in their abilities, to freely express their creativity, and to contribute with their own uniqueness by wearing their true colors. We take care of one another and always prioritize health and wellbeing. We give our people the space and trust to learn, to try, to succeed, to collaborate, to think outside of the box, to make mistakes, and even to fail. And then we come together to try again.

About the Role
Distribution is how our clients reach demand and monetize across the travel platform ecosystem. This role ensures clients are well connected (connectivity into Desk and partner systems), have simple, centralized control over pricing/availability/affiliate rules, and benefit from Sites and embedded booking experiences that are mobile-first, brand-flexible and explicitly optimized for conversion. Engineering leadership here directly moves the needle on partner adoption, Distribution revenue and client growth.
As the head of engineering for this pillar, you’ll be responsible for leading and growing engineering, owning technical strategy, execution, reliability and people leadership for a wide scope of technically different but strategically connected systems: Desk, Affiliates engines, External APIs, and highly optimized Sites that are fully integrated with FareHarbor’s core capabilities.
What you’ll do here:
- Own technical strategy and architecture for Distribution’s many surfaces: Affiliates, Content, OTA/reseller APIs, FH Sites, and connectivity.
- Design pragmatic, loosely-coupled systems that protect the core monolith while enabling Distribution services to iterate and scale safely.
- Define SLOs/SLIs, runbooks and on-call practices for Distribution services; lead incident response and continuous improvement.
- Build observability and dashboards that give visibility into partner health, adoption and integration performance.
- Partner tightly with Product and Commercial to translate GTM priorities into technical roadmaps and delivery plans.
- Build and grow high-performance, multi-disciplinary engineering teams by adopting engineering best practices and responsibly leveraging AI to boost the team’s collective performance.
- Recruit, manage and coach managers, and set a consistently high bar for both the team and yourself.
Requirements:
- 10+ years engineering experience with ≥4 years leading managers or broad, cross-functional engineering teams.
- Strong operational instincts: SRE/observability, incident leadership, and continuous reliability improvements.
- Great people leader: hires well, develops managers, sets priorities and creates accountability.
- Strong experience designing, building and shaping high-scale distributed systems, with a demonstrated ability to drive growth by leveraging technology effectively (platforms, integrations, and customer-facing services).
- Managing velocity while building for scale — proven skill balancing rapid delivery and GTM urgency with sound architecture, long-term maintainability and technical debt management.
- Own system health: accountable for SLOs/SLIs, observability, incident response and continuous reliability improvements; strong operational instincts and experience with SRE practices.
- Experience modernizing legacy platforms — migrating or evolving monoliths into more scalable, maintainable architectures while minimizing business disruption.
Bonus Points:
- Experience in travel, marketplaces, eCommerce, or integrations with OTAs and large external partner sites.
