Waltonen Engineering is actively seeking a Design Checker to join our team! As a Design Checker, you will be responsible for meticulously reviewing and scrutinizing design documentation to ensure compliance with established standards and regulations within the Defense industry.

Job Responsibilities

  • Report to Waltonen Design Leader
  • Examine engineering CAD models, drawings, and documentation for accuracy, completeness, and sound design
  • Interact daily with Engineers, Designers and Detailers regarding CAD models/drawings
  • Identify errors and corrections needed - ensuring that designs conform to customer specifications
  • Provide feedback and address any issues promptly
  • Regularly use Creo Parametric CAD software to open, manipulate, and modify specific files
  • Onsite Creo training will be provided to candidates without previous experience.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience checking designs within the defense sector
  • Demonstrated work history checking CAD models (preferably Creo)
  • Ability to communicate constructively and professionally with team members
  • Familiarity with MIL standards & GD&T
  • Previous CAD modeling experience required
  • Must be a team player with strong collaborative skills
  • Only United States citizens can be considered
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed, with the ability to adapt to fluctuating workloads
  • Availability to work between 40 to 60 hours per week based on project demands
  • Must be willing to work remotely on Saturdays on an as-needed basis to meet customer demands

Preferred Qualifications

  • Checking experience utilizing Creo CAD software
  • Exposure to Teamcenter, a product lifecycle management (PLM) system, is a plus
  • Familiarity with Vismockup is a plus
