Role Overview
We have an exciting internship in our Corporate Headquarters located in Houston, TX. The opportunity is one of the best experiences available, providing interesting and engaging work within a thriving group. The program offers real-world experience in data engineering, AI, and analytics, managed and delivered by the intern team with support from experienced engineers and project leaders.
Key Responsibilities
- Application Development – Assist in designing, developing, testing, and enhancing internal applications using React, Node.js, and Python, following established engineering standards and development patterns.
- AI-Assisted Software Engineering – Use approved AI coding assistants/Copilots to accelerate code generation, debugging, documentation, testing, and refactoring while learning appropriate validation and responsible-use practices.
- API & Data Integration – Develop and consume REST APIs and integrate applications with enterprise data platforms and services, gaining experience with how applications interact with data engineering ecosystems.
- Testing, CI/CD & DevOps – Contribute to automated testing, code quality checks, and GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines, including participating in pull requests, code reviews, and controlled application deployments.
- Agile Team Delivery – Participate in the team’s software development lifecycle, including requirements refinement, technical design, sprint activities, troubleshooting, documentation, and delivery of production-quality application features.
Requirements
- Minimum 60 complete hours from an accredited college or university.
- Grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher.
- Pursuing a degree in MIS, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or related field
Preferred
- Full-Stack Development – Academic, project, internship, or personal-project exposure to JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Node.js, or Python and an understanding of basic web application architecture.
- Generative AI & Developer Copilots – Exposure to GitHub Copilot or similar generative AI development tools, including an interest in prompt-driven development and understanding how generated code should be reviewed and validated.
- Modern Software Engineering Practices – Familiarity with Git/GitHub, APIs, automated testing, CI/CD, cloud development, or DevOps concepts; direct GitHub Actions experience would be beneficial but not required.
