We're looking for an experienced Customer Project Manager to join Ericsson. In this role, you'll take full accountability for project execution, driving delivery excellence while ensuring compliance, financial performance, and exceptional customer outcomes.
You'll work at the intersection of delivery and customer relationships - keeping projects on track, on budget, and aligned to both Ericsson's standards and our customers' expectations.
You'll be joining a team directly supporting VMO2, one of the UK's most prominent telecoms customers. The team is focused on delivering a network roll-out programme that includes new builds, upgrades, and the deployment of 4G & 5G small cells across key UK cities. It's a collaborative, fast-paced environment where your work has direct, visible impact.
What You'll Do
- Lead pre-sales contract feasibility reviews (CFR), ensuring alignment between what's sold and what's delivered
- Build and own the project plan, securing approval before execution begins
- Drive end-to-end project execution across customer network roll-out projects, New Product Introduction (NPI), and customer trials and demos, delivering to agreed targets within scope, budget, and timeline
- Act as the primary customer-facing point of contact, working with VMO2 on a daily basis to maintain alignment, trust, and momentum throughout delivery
- Manage customer and stakeholder relationships, maintaining clear communication and alignment throughout delivery
- Support and lead customer trials and demos, ensuring they are delivered to the highest standard and reflect positively on Ericsson's capabilities
- Drive NPI activities, coordinating cross-functional input to bring new products and solutions into the customer environment effectively
- Identify, track, and manage project dependencies and risks, ensuring their impact on delivery is understood, mitigated, and communicated proactively
- Own and manage change control processes, ensuring any changes to scope, cost, or timeline are properly assessed, agreed, and documented
- Own financial performance, with a focus on protecting Unadjusted Margin targets
- Ensure full compliance with legal, financial, data security, privacy, and Health & Safety (E+OHS) directives
- Maintain data accuracy and produce reliable, conscientious reporting
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Proven experience in project management, ideally within telecoms or a technical delivery environment
- Experience delivering customer network roll-out projects, including new builds and upgrades
- Exposure to NPI processes and the ability to manage the introduction of new products or solutions into a live customer environment
- Experience supporting or leading customer trials and demos, with an understanding of the preparation and coordination required
- Experience in network deployment, including small cells
- Small cells experience - understanding of 4G & 5G small cell programmes
- Strong understanding of financial performance and margin management
- Excellent stakeholder and customer management skills, with confidence in a daily customer-facing capacity
- Experience managing risks, dependencies, and change control within a structured delivery environment
- Comfortable working under pressure and navigating complexity
Preferred:
- Formal project management accreditation (e.g. Prince2, PMP, or equivalent)
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks including data privacy, E+OHS, and financial directives
The Kind of Person Who'll Thrive Here
- You enjoy managing customer stakeholders and building strong working relationships - including day-to-day customer interaction
- You're comfortable leading trials, demos, and NPI activities - bringing structure and confidence to less predictable workstreams
- You're driven and collaborative - you get energy from working as part of a team
- You perform well under pressure and stay focused when priorities shift
- You're data-driven, financially aware, and comfortable owning numbers
- You're proactive in spotting risks and dependencies before they become problems
- You're comfortable navigating change and managing it through the right processes
