For over 180 years, New York Life Insurance Company has helped people achieve financial security and peace of mind. As a Fortune 100 company and the largest mutual life insurer in the United States, we are now transforming how we deliver on that mission, building AI-enabled, next-generation digital experiences that redefine how we connect with the people and institutions we serve. This is a rare opportunity to shape that future from the inside.
Position Overview
NYL.com is evolving from a traditional corporate website into a structured, composable digital platform, an enterprise asset that serves as New York Life's authoritative content origin and owned experience engine across human and AI-driven channels. As AI changes how information is discovered and consumed, dotcom's role shifts from destination to origin, ensuring the company's content authority and experience quality wherever audiences encounter New York Life. Enabled by a move to cloud-based headless architecture, the platform is being reconceived as a multi-audience, intent-driven system that delivers dynamically composed experiences, deepens interactive capabilities like interaction tools, calculators, and conversion pathways, and generates data signals that inform content strategy, personalization, and business decisions.
The Director of NYL.com Product Management for Institutional Audiences (e.g., institutional investors, non-NYL financial professionals, small businesses, employers, and plan sponsors) drives this evolution for the institutional segment, owning the product strategy, roadmap, and data-driven capabilities that serve. This role manages the unique complexity of compliance-sensitive, data-intensive digital experiences and works closely with peer roles responsible for consumer and corporate audiences to ensure cross-audience coherence. The Director partners with Content Strategy, Content Operations, AI Experience Product Management, Experience Design, and Technology.
Key Responsibilities

  • Develop business cases and requirements for institutional experience initiatives, including redesigns, data display enhancements, and new structured content capabilities.
  • Define acceptance criteria for institutional product work and own product-level acceptance for strategic initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain standards for data accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory compliance across all financial product displays.
  • Ensure institutional-facing surfaces are built for both human and AI consumption, with structured data, metadata, and schema optimized for AI search engines and AI-driven channels alongside direct visitors.
  • Proactively apply AI tools to accelerate product management workflows including analytics, requirements development, data auditing, and testing.

Audience Experiences and Capabilities
  • Accountable for the experience strategy and quality of NYL.com surfaces serving institutional investors, financial professionals (non-NYL agents), small businesses, employers, and plan sponsors
  • Accountable for audience specific data-driven capabilities (e.g., financial product performance tables and data displays, data feeds and structured data integrations, and compliance-sensitive content display), institutional resource libraries and document repositories (e.g., prospectuses, fact sheets, regulatory filings), employer and plan sponsor informational experiences, small business solutions pages and lead flows, and gated/authenticated content access for credentialed investor content and plan sponsor resources.
  • Partner with AI Experience Product Management on institutional-facing AI capabilities such as intelligent document search and dynamic performance reporting.

Cross-functional Coordination
  • Coordinate with Product Owners on solutioning and to translate institutional product work into the engineering backlog and align on sprint planning and capacity.
  • Partner with Authoring/Content Operations for product-driven (strategic and optimization) institutional work.

Governance and Operations
  • Apply the work tiering framework within the institutional audience portfolio, ensuring consistent categorization and routing of work.
  • Maintain institutional-specific analytics, performance benchmarks, and success metrics, with particular attention to data accuracy and compliance standards.
