The Corporate Tax Manager will manage the day-to-day domestic tax operations of Veeva and be responsible for all aspects of the domestic income tax provision and tax compliance functions, serving as the primary reviewer of workflows executed by the Senior Tax Analyst. Additionally, the candidate will manage audit request processes and work collaboratively on cross-functional finance projects that impact the business.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the quarterly and annual close process in accordance with ASC 740 including related SEC reporting, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
- Manage and review tax implications related to ASC 718 Stock-Based Compensation, 162(m), and other tax provision components.
- Own and maintain tax accounting control compliance under Sarbanes-Oxley.
- Manage the relationship with external service providers on Federal and State income tax returns, including book/tax differences, state apportionment, and disclosures taking primary review ownership.
- Review corporate income tax extensions and quarterly estimate tax payments prepared by external service providers.
- Collaborate with the senior tax analyst on the final authorization, tracking, and processing of all domestic tax payments to ensure compliance.
- Manage the non-income tax operations ensuring the accurate and timely filing of tax forms, payments, and state/local business licenses.
- Lead audit defense, manage federal and state inquiries, and ensure prompt notice remediation.
- Mentor, develop, and review the workflows of the senior tax analyst to drive overall team capability and technical growth.
- Conduct research and provide insightful analysis on tax implications of specific transactions.
- Take the lead on ad hoc tax projects that drive continuous improvement.
Requirements
- 6+ years of hands-on experience in federal and state income tax compliance and reporting, including a minimum of 2 years within a CPA firm
- CPA License
- Strong technical review expertise in ASC 740 tax provision.
- Experience interacting with external auditors and supporting tax control compliance under Sarbanes-Oxley
- A sharp analytical mindset with a knack for problem-solving
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills to meet tight deadlines
- Proficient in Excel

Compensation
- Base pay: $110,000 - $160,000
- The salary range listed here has been provided to comply with local regulations and represents a potential base salary range for this role. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range above or below, depending on experience and location. We look at compensation for each individual and base our offer on your unique qualifications, experience, and expected contributions. This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation in addition to base salary, such as variable bonus and/or stock bonus.
