About this opportunity:
Join Ericsson as a Core Network Support Engineer and play a key role in ensuring the stability, performance, and reliability of mission-critical mobile core networks. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing, validating, and supporting LTE and 5G Core network solutions while delivering operational excellence for our customers.
You will work closely with engineering, field operations, and project teams to deploy system changes, resolve complex technical issues, and continuously improve network performance. This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge Core Network technologies, cloud-native platforms, and automation tools in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
What you will do:
- Implement, test, and validate backup and restore procedures for Core Network elements.
- Deploy, test, and validate network solutions and system changes to ensure successful implementation.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, and network issues in production environments.
- Perform preventive maintenance activities to maximize network availability, reliability, and service quality.
- Investigate network performance issues and collaborate with customers and internal teams to identify and implement improvements.
- Support incident management and service restoration to minimize network impact.
- Collaborate with engineering, field operations, and project teams to ensure successful service delivery.
- Participate in customer meetings and provide technical recommendations and operational support.
- Execute security, audit, compliance, and reporting activities in accordance with Ericsson Managed Services processes.
- Prioritize operational tasks and ensure timely delivery in line with agreed service levels.
- Participate in after-hours support and on-call activities as required.
The skills you bring:
- Bachelor's degree or above in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional qualifications.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the IT and/or Telecommunications industry.
- Good understanding of LTE and 5G Core network architecture and topology.
- Knowledge of EPC network elements such as MME, HSS, SGW, PGW, PCRF/SAPC, UDC/CUDB, and DNS/IP Works. Knowledge of 5G Core network functions is an advantage.
- Understanding of IP networking fundamentals and routing protocols, including ISIS, OSPF, and BGP.
- Familiarity with telecommunications protocols such as S1AP, SCTP, GTP, Diameter, and LDAP.
- Experience with Linux operating systems and command-line administration.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes and containerized applications.
- Experience working with networking platforms from Ericsson, Cisco, Juniper, or similar vendors.
- Basic scripting or automation skills using Shell, Python, or similar languages are desirable.
- Exposure to F5 Load Balancers, firewalls, and IP security technologies is an advantage.
- Understanding of Ericsson eNodeB, gNodeB, or Mini-Link platforms is preferred.
- Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or RHCSA are considered an advantage.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a customer-focused mindset.
- Ability to work independently and effectively within cross-functional teams.
- Strong prioritization and time management skills in a production support environment.
