Compensation
Position Overview:
This position is responsible for communicating and supporting JM core values and delivering the JM experience.
The purpose of the Continuous Improvement Coordinator role is to support engineering work in operations, production, or maintenance environments. The CI Coordinator will be responsible for developing and training employees on safety/environmental/engineering activities, SOPs, JSAs, Manufacturing Specifications, and testing to assure operational flexibility and responsiveness.
Responsibilities:
- Complete safety requirements as assigned
- Follow applicable Johns Manville procedures and policies
- Maintain safety, product quality, and manufacturing effectiveness through daily troubleshooting and resolution of process difficulties
- Drive safety involvement through completion of Safety Culture Assessment improvement activities per Safety Charter plans
- Understand problem solving methods and lead problem solving (RCCAs) as needed
- Analyze reports and defective processes/products to determine trends and recommend corrective actions
- Assist in any projects that are required for the operation
- Identify potential equipment concerns and submit work order notifications as required
- Work actively with operators, leaders and supervisors to allow for improved operational efficiency
- Assist in all matters related to product quality
- Maintain and track production metrics as required and communicate them
- Develop and implement methods and procedures for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection to ensure products are free from flaws and function as designed
- Support execution of Trial Plans (TPs) and other continuous improvement projects throughout the manufacturing process
- Provide solutions for research, development, and implementation
- Maintain standardization practices, development, and implementation
- Responsible for auxiliary production lines, pilot line and slitter.
- Responsible for specs, sop’s etc.
- Responsible for process audits
- May be required to perform other related duties as assigned
Leadership Responsibilities:
- There are no supervisory responsibilities for direct reports for this position, but this person must have the skills to interact as a leader with all plant department employees.
Requirements: (education, skills, and abilities)
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Two to four years of manufacturing experience with demonstrated troubleshooting and mechanical understanding
- Expectations are 70/30 floor time- 70% floor 30% clerical
- Demonstrated computer skills, including Microsoft Office products and SAP
- Proven interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting and utilize problem solving capabilities
Physical Requirements:
The physical requirements of this position are: (these requirements are typical for most of our manufacturing roles)
- The ability to stand for extended periods
- The ability to manually lift, push or pull at least 25 pounds safely and with proper body mechanics, sometimes while in awkward positions.
- Use of hands (repetitive motion, grabbing, feeling, sensing, pulling)
- The ability to work safely in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful work environment
- The ability to safely and effectively work in an often-dusty work environment that experiences a broad range of temperatures (very hot to very cold).
- The ability to withstand the rigors of working an 8-hour shift schedule.
- The ability to bend, stoop or kneel on a periodic basis.
- The ability to reach or work above the shoulder on a periodic basis.
