We are looking for an enthusiastic EU Compliance Manager to join the team.
Role Purpose
Reporting to the Head of Compliance, the EU Compliance Manager will be part of the wider second line compliance function, currently based in Dublin, London and Milan. This role requires a dynamic, adaptable and well organised individual who is comfortable engaging with all aspects of Compliance that may impact our EU Branches in the Netherlands (Rotterdam), Germany (Düsseldorf), France (Paris), Spain (Madrid) and Italy (Milan).
This role will be based in our Paris office with a hybrid schedule that has the option of working two days remotely each week and will involve travel to the other EU offices.
Key Accountabilities:

Compliance business partner for Europe, providing second line support to the Head of Europe and the EU Branch Managers in the expansion of our business through our European Branch network.

Keeping up to date and assessing the impact of new regulatory developments, informing senior management of any issues that may affect the Branch network and providing recommendations for action.

Providing advice, assistance and support to colleagues in the Branches on compliance related matters, including Branch specific Conduct of Business requirements and reporting obligations.

Working with impacted business teams to implement regulatory change, translating legislation and regulations into “local” Branch policy and procedures as required.

Actively supporting the Branch Managers in respect of preparation for regulatory submissions / inspections, responding to regulatory information requests and representing Everest at meetings as required.

Delivering appropriate in person compliance training for Branch colleagues and monitoring completion rates.

Tracking compliance of the company with applicable regulatory reporting deadlines.

Testing compliance of the company with applicable laws and regulations through the completion of assurance monitoring reviews and other oversight processes, in line with the annual Board approved Compliance Plan.

Assisting with and coordinating compliance related projects.

Reporting on compliance related matters to the Head of Compliance, providing Branch related input to the various oversight committees including the Board Risk Committee.

Working with the Head of Europe and the EU Branch Managers to promote a strong compliance culture within the Branch network.
Candidate Profile
Qualifications, Education & Experience:

A comprehensive understanding of the regulatory requirements applying to a General Insurance Undertaking operating in the European Union.

Strong technical ability with experience of operating in a second line compliance role ideally within an insurance organization, with exposure to relevant EU regulators.

Experience with consumer (conduct risk exposed) and affinity lines of business in Europe will be a particular benefit.

Degree or similar professional qualification, preferably in Law, Finance, Economics or Business Administration.

Compliance certification such as Professional Diploma in Compliance an advantage.
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:

High level of proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

Spoken and or written French, German, Dutch, Spanish or Italian a distinct advantage.

Highly collaborative with a proven ability to build relationships both internally and externally.

A confident approach and an ability to clearly communicate with a wide range of stakeholders including regulators, legal advisors, outsourced partners and senior management within the business.

Experience in people management, this role will have one direct report.
