As Ozow continues to scale, one of our biggest growth opportunities lies within our existing SME and long-tail merchant base. We are looking for a commercially minded Commercial Growth Associate to unlock this opportunity by increasing merchant activity, retention, product adoption and revenue through scalable, data-driven and AI-enabled growth initiatives.

You will 
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Commercial, Product, Marketing and Data teams to drive merchant growth initiatives.
  • Take ownership of the SME and long-tail merchant segment performance.
  • Influence stakeholders using data-driven insights to prioritise growth opportunities.

Merchant Lifecycle Growth 

  • Design and implement lifecycle programmes to improve merchant activation, engagement and retention.
  • Identify growth opportunities across the merchant journey and deploy targeted interventions.
  • Optimise onboarding-to-activation funnels to increase active merchant rates.

Merchant Revenue Growth 

  • Drive Gross Payment Value (GPV) growth across the SME merchant base.
  • Increase revenue per merchant through targeted commercial initiatives.
  • Improve transaction frequency and overall merchant performance.
Merchant Health & Segmentation
  • Develop and manage merchant segmentation strategies based on behaviour and value.
  • Build and maintain merchant health scoring frameworks.
  • Identify at-risk merchants and implement proactive retention strategies.

Product Adoption & Expansion 

  • Increase adoption of Ozow products across the merchant base.
  • Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities.
  • Partner with Product and Marketing teams to drive feature awareness and usage.
Automation & AI-Enabled 
  • Design and implement scalable, automated growth programmes.
  • Leverage AI tools to enhance merchant engagement and internal efficiency.
  • Build automated lifecycle journeys that drive measurable outcomes.
Growth Experimentation 
  • Run structured experiments to test and optimise growth strategies.
  • Use data insights to refine initiatives and improve performance.
  • Measure and report on impact of growth initiatives.
Tool Utilization & Change Management 
  • Ensure effective use of CRM, data tools and systems to support growth initiatives.
  • Build and maintain processes and documentation for scalability.
  • Support implementation of tools and systems that enhance merchant growth.

Requirements 

  • 3–6 years experience in Growth, Commercial Operations, Revenue Operations, Lifecycle Marketing, Merchant Success, Customer Growth, Business Performance or Analytics. 
  • Experience working with SME or merchant portfolios at scale, using data to drive commercial decisions and executing measurable growth initiatives.
