- Strengthen commercial legal processes by contributing to playbooks, templates, and self-serve resources that scale with the business.
- Build trust with sales and customer success teams as a reliable, business-minded legal partner.
- Help shape how GC AI uses its own product in day-to-day commercial legal work.
- Manage a high volume of customer-side negotiations, including reviewing and redlining customer paper and bespoke terms.
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements (MSAs, order forms, DPAs, NDAs).
- Support sales teams through deal cycles, understanding their timelines and quarter-end pressures.
- Work independently on the full range of commercial matters while knowing when to escalate complex issues.
- Explain legal concepts clearly to non-legal stakeholders across sales, product, and customer success.
- Balance legal risk management with business objectives to maintain deal velocity.
- Contribute to developing scalable legal processes, templates, and playbooks for go-to-market teams.
- Support vendor-side contracting as needed.
- Take on additional projects and tasks as needed in response to the evolving needs of a fast-growing startup.
- JD and active bar membership in at least one US jurisdiction.
- 5-9 years of technology transactions experience in a B2B SaaS environment.
- In-house legal experience.
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills, particularly with commercial agreements (MSAs, order forms, DPAs, NDAs).
- Ability to manage a high volume of customer-side negotiations, including reviewing and redlining customer paper and bespoke terms.
- Experience supporting sales teams and understanding their timelines and pressures.
- Ability to work independently while knowing when to escalate complex matters.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain legal concepts clearly to non-legal stakeholders.
- Proven ability to balance legal risk management with business objectives.
- Comfort working under pressure, particularly during month-end closing periods.
- Experience at a high-growth startup or scale-up company.
- Experience at a big law firm in a technology group.
- Familiarity with AI, machine learning, or legal technology sectors.
- Privacy certification (CIPP/US, CIPP/E) or substantive privacy experience.
- Experience advising on AI-related legal issues.
- Experience developing scalable legal processes, templates, or playbooks for go-to-market teams.
- Vendor-side contracting experience.
