About the Role
We’re seeking a highly motivated Commercial Assistant to join our dedicated team based in the Leeds office. In this supportive role, you’ll work closely with the Commercial Manager & Head of Operations and the wider commercial team to help maintain effective commercial control and accurate reporting across our housing property contracts.
You’ll play an important part in supporting day-to-day commercial and administrative activities, helping to ensure costs are controlled, information is accurate, and processes are followed in line with company standards. This role is ideal for someone looking to build or develop a career in a commercial environment within a leading housing and care provider, while contributing to excellent customer service, compliance, and safety.
Role Responsibilities
- Support the Commercial Manager & Head of Operations and commercial team in maintaining commercial control and accurate reporting across housing maintenance contracts
- Assist with cost control activities, ensuring information is recorded accurately and in line with company procedures
- Support best-practice commercial processes to help maximise value recovery and maintain high standards of customer service
- Carry out administrative tasks across local operations and internal departments
- Record and respond to client and service user communications in a timely and professional manner
- Assist with materials requisitions, purchase orders, and invoicing processes
- Input cost and work order data to support timely completion and billing of works
- Communicate with service users regarding ongoing works, providing clear and helpful updates
- Liaise with colleagues to ensure accurate and timely information is shared across teams
- Help maintain company assets in line with policy and report any damages or issues promptly
- Attend meetings and training sessions to support ongoing learning and development
- Uphold high standards of professionalism, health & safety, and customer care at all times
- Provide commercial and administrative support to quantity surveyors, including assistance with pricing and general commercial practices
Role Criteria:
- Strong time management, planning, and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Confident in using computerised systems and Microsoft Office applications to support commercial and administrative activities
- Good written, numeracy, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- A strong customer service focus, with a professional and courteous approach to all interactions
- Ability to liaise effectively with service users, colleagues, and external stakeholders to support day-to-day operations
- Willingness to attend meetings and training sessions to support learning and development
- Commitment to following health & safety requirements and company procedures at all times
