About This Opportunity
We are looking for a highly motivated and passionate engineer to join our product line maintenance and customer support engineering organization, working on the 5G Cloud Core Data Manager (CCDM) product.
You will be part of a talented, self-organized team within Ericsson Spain R&D in Madrid, working in an international environment with leading-edge technologies.

What You Will Do- Sustain, evolve, and support the CCDM product throughout its entire post-release lifecycle - from deployment through upgrades, maintenance, and end-of-life- Investigate and resolve complex issues reported from customer environments, performing root cause analysis and delivering timely corrections- Develop, test, and release patches and fixes with minimal disruption to live networks- Participate in the 24×7 3rd-line support on-call rotation- Drive continuous improvement of product reliability, performance, and maintainability- Work with technologies such as Kubernetes, AI/LLMs, cloud-native platforms, and CI/CD pipelines- Collaborate cross-functionally with development, operations, and support teams to bridge the gap between field issues and engineering solutions
What You Will Bring- Hands-on experience as a user, developer, or tester of distributed database technologies- Experience in programming for open-platform, real-time, and high-availability systems, including scripting- Expertise in Java and C++, with solid knowledge of design patterns and software architecture- Familiarity with LLMs and their practical applicability (LangGraph, LangChain, MCPs, low-code AI tooling)- Knowledge of cloud-native technologies (Kubernetes, Docker) and database fundamentals- Strong competence in AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude, code assistants)- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, open mindset- Fluent in English- Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, or related field
Desirable- Deep understanding of distributed database concepts and telecommunications protocols- Understanding of mobile network architecture (4G/5G) - interfaces, protocols, and network functions- Knowledge of high-availability concepts and techniques (replication, leader election, active/standby)- Experience with 5G core network- Understanding of TCP/IP networking and modern transport protocols (e.g., QUIC), as well as IP-based applications (HTTP, HTTPS)
