Purpose:
The Business Systems Analyst III serves as a liaison between Finance and IT, ensuring the effective implementation, enhancement, and support of financial systems. You'll partner closely with Accounting, Product, Development, QA, and business stakeholders to translate complex business needs into scalable technology solutions that improve operational efficiency, financial accuracy, and business outcomes. Accountabilities:
Key Deliverables
- Partner with IT, Finance and Accounting teams to understand business processes, challenges, and system needs.
- Lead requirements gathering, business process analysis, data mapping, documentation, QA/UAT support, defect triage, and go-live readiness for assigned initiatives.
- Support the maintenance, enhancement, and troubleshooting of financial applications such as Oracle, Workday, or Hyperion.
- Partner with Accounting, Product, Development, QA, and business stakeholders to ensure requirements are clearly defined, understood, and successfully delivered.
- Analyze upstream and downstream impacts across policy administration, commissions, payments, ledger, FAH, and accounting processes to support end-to-end solution design.
- Maintain comprehensive JIRA documentation, including business context, business impact, priorities, ownership, next steps, and resolution status to support effective delivery and transparency.
- Apply critical thinking, innovation, AI fluency, and sound judgment to identify process improvements, improve solution quality, and accelerate delivery while balancing Day 1 and future-state priorities.
- Creates and maintains effective communication and working relationship with own team, business partners, IT, and management
Qualifications and Experience:
What You Need to Bring
- 4+ years of Business Systems Analysis experience supporting Finance, Accounting, Insurance, financial systems, or other relevant experience.
- Experience working with ERP and financial software systems (e.g., Oracle, Workday, SAP, Hyperion, or similar platforms).
- Demonstrated ability to independently analyze business problems, review system mappings, data, and technical artifacts, and develop well-reasoned recommendations prior to escalation.
- Experience with JIRA, business requirements documentation, process modeling, data mapping, QA/UAT coordination, defect management, and release readiness activities.
- Strong communication, collaboration, ownership, and attention to detail with the ability to effectively influence both business and technical stakeholders while navigating ambiguity and competing priorities.
- Demonstrated critical thinking, adaptability, continuous improvement mindset, and an understanding of how AI can be leveraged to improve analysis, documentation, and delivery outcomes.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Accounting, Finance, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
