Business Systems Analyst, GCC – Assurant

The Business Systems Analyst role ensures incoming work is clearly defined, consistently triaged, transparently prioritized, and delivered safely. Working within the Delivery Team, the role supports both project initiatives and day-to-day operational work by improving request quality, coordinating analysis across engineering, and supporting controlled changes to systems and workflows.

The role contributes by providing structured analysis, clear documentation, and strong stakeholder engagement to drive clarity and alignment across business and technology teams. Through disciplined investigation, effective communication, and a focus on continuous improvement, the Business Systems Analyst helps ensure safe, efficient, and value driven change across the New Zealand Auto business.

This position will be based in Hyderabad/Bengaluru, India.

Work Hours – 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM IST

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

Requirements Analysis and Documentation:

·       Conduct detailed analysis of business and client requirements, creating artifacts such as customer journeys, use cases, workflow schemas, and technical specifications.

·       Ensure requirements are clear, unambiguous, feasible, and validated with key stakeholders.

·       Eliminate duplication or overlap in documentation and maintain alignment with the strategic technology roadmap.

·       Create detailed business process and rules documentation, gathering requirements from business users and getting sign off.

Technical & Operational Triage:

·       Perform initial investigations for operational items, including - reproducing defects, gathering evidence and system logging / diagnostic events, working with SQL queries when needed and preparing clear handovers for engineering teams.

·       Support root cause analysis by gathering information from business stakeholders and engineering team.

·       Identify and manage dependencies and process impacts of change requests or issues raised.

Stakeholder Engagement:

·       Collaborating with business stakeholders and engineering leads towards resolution of issues & implementation of changes.

·       Facilitate requirements elicitation through interviews, workshops, surveys, and other methods.

·       Challenge stakeholders to ensure requirements align with business objectives and suggest alternatives to achieve cost-effective, efficient solutions.

Governance and Traceability:

·       Apply robust version control to all documentation, ensuring each iteration is auditable and distinct.

·       Oversee governance controls, including risk, change, issue, and dependency management.

·       Ensuring prioritization is transparent and aligned with agreed service levels and traced back to business impact.

·       Manage expectation-setting on priorities and agree timelines via the Delivery Manager.

Project Support and Risk Management:

·       Provide a single point of contact between business units and IT/testing teams.

·       Act as a subject matter expert throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring effective issue identification and resolution.

·       Manage risks with clear mitigation plans and escalate critical issues with actionable recommendations to senior leadership.

Business and Process Improvement:

·       Participate in root cause analysis of complex problems and recommend system or process improvements to enhance productivity for both business and IT.

·       Support testing efforts, when required, by coordinating activities and ensuring alignment with requirements

What are the requirements needed for this position?

Experience

·       4+ years of experience in technical system analysis, supporting business requests and defining process improvements.

·       Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across cross-functional teams.

·       Demonstrated ability to analyze and document complex requirements, reconcile conflicts, and facilitate alignment between business and technical stakeholders.

·       Experience working within projects and changing environments, ideally in global or regional delivery settings, with exposure to managing concurrent workstreams.

·       Highly organized, self-motivated, and adaptable, with the ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.

·       Proven ability to manage risks, escalate issues effectively, and ensure timely delivery of projects Experience in coordinating or supporting system testing, issue tracking, and root cause analysis.

·       Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to identify and recommend process improvements.

·       Commitment to continuous learning and professional development, with a positive and proactive approach to challenges.

·       Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment, collaborating with project teams to progress deliverables

Technology Requirements

·       Strong documentation skills, ensuring clear, concise, and audience-appropriate deliverables (experience with tools like Miro/Ludic/Visio).

·       Familiarity with technical data driven systems (e.g. event-driven services, API endpoints, cloud/web services, SQL and JSON/XML) and the ability to bridge business and technical requirements effectively.

·       Experience analyzing data using SQL queries and working with API driven systems (REST/JSON), including interpreting request/response payloads and understanding integration workflows.
