Job Description
As a Payments Japan Business Manager (BM) you will support the Payments Head of Japan to track and execute location growth strategy and advise on optimal business operation model through close collaboration with various local key stakeholders. You are responsible for performing analysis on financial performance including but not limited to forecast on revenues, headcounts and expenses to support management reporting, business reviews or senior management presentation. Demonstrating strategic thinking and deep understanding of the Payments business processes coupled with a strong business acumen, you are expected to drive discussions and provide advice to the business head.
Job Responsibilities:

  • Support Payments Head of Japan with financial planning, forecasting, business reviews and senior management presentations, client and product analysis support, multi-year growth initiatives tracking and any other product strategic reviews.
  • Development and oversight of performance metrics for business, including financial, performance, pipeline, expenses, trends, issues and opportunities to expand the business
  • Build Payments knowledge and awareness of industry developments / requirements and collaborate effectively with other LoBs as a bridge to align business strategy
  • Build effective partnerships with business and functional peers to manage the end to end business environment (Business Control, SCBM, Compliance, HR, GRE, Marketing, and others)
  • Actively participate and present location interests in global or regional Payments task groups, e.g. front office reporting tools, sales pipeline monitoring among others.
  • Assist in key regulatory, and governance priorities for the franchise when needed
  • Act as an advisor to Head of Business on key location strategic activities and lead F&BM related workstreams


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance, or related field
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in financial institutions in Finance, Strategy, Business Management or related functions.
  • Ability to work independently in a results oriented, dynamic and fast paced environment; deliver result within tight timeframe under high pressure situations
  • Able to develop and manage relationship with key stakeholders and navigate in a matrix reporting organization
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues clearly while paying attention to details and excellent presentation skills and experience in managing senior level discussions
  • Advanced Excel knowledge and expertise in producing high quality PowerPoint slides and ability to interrogate and interpret financial reports.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving skills with the ability to multi-task and dynamically prioritize or adapt with ever-changing and sometimes conflicting demands
  • A thorough understanding and appreciation of risks and controls, with motivation to improve processes and resolve issues
  • A good team player and a self-starter with a positive attitude, motivation and an ability to learn quickly
  • Able to work within tight timeframe under high pressure situations


Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience in Payments product and sales functions is preferred.
