As a Vice President in the Rates & Fixed Income Financing Business Management, you will partner closely with the head of FICC Markets in Japan to manage the business on a day-to-day basis. You will have the opportunity to develop effective partnerships with key business partners in Finance, Legal, Compliance, Tax, Risk, Marketing, Technology & Operations, and interact with business management colleagues in Europe and Asia. Your role will involve leading and implementing new business initiatives, assisting with transaction analytics for high-value, non-standard transactions, managing regulatory and control agenda, and supporting the SCBM on multiple business items and events for the desks supported. This role offers a fast-paced and demanding environment where you can demonstrate your strategic, conceptual and analytical thinking, and your ability to instill structure, process, accountability, delivery and client-focus.
Job Responsibilities:

  • Obtain a broad understanding of the Japanese markets
  • Develop effective partnerships with key business partners in Finance, Legal, Compliance, Tax, Risk, Marketing, Technology & Operations, as well as interact with business management colleagues in Europe and Asia.
  • Lead and implement new business initiatives (NBIA's)
  • Assist with completing transaction analytics for high value, non-standard transactions
  • Manage regulatory and control agenda
  • Research and solve internal issues as they arise
  • Represent the business at meetings and execute on take-aways and action items. Take the initiative to run any special projects
  • Support the SCBM (senior country business manager) on multiples business items and events for the desks supported.


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited, high quality institution is required
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in planning, business management and project management with a capital markets business
  • A track record demonstrating a high level of personal initiative, setting and achieving challenging goals, and demonstrating entrepreneurial leadership
  • Candidate must enjoy working in a fast-paced and demanding environment and must be a strategic, conceptual and analytical thinker
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills - and ability to interact with colleagues at all levels in a peer-like way, and achieve goals without direct control over resources
  • Ability to create concise communication materials for senior management
  • Ability to analyze and summarize findings from large and complex data
  • Excellent in project management disciplines and an ability to instill structure, process, accountability, delivery and client-focus
  • Broad understanding of Global Fixed Income, instruments and structured products
  • Experience with and/or knowledge of a large investment banking organization

  • MBA degree preferred
