To continue to that journey, we are now looking for a Business Developer (BD) to join our team in the Category Carbon Steel, Aluminium, Mirror, and Glass (AMG), based at our Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam office.

Job Description

As a Business Developer, you will lead and develop the business with assigned suppliers to drive affordability, competitiveness, and sustainable growth. Working closely with Engineering and Logistics colleagues in Business team, you will optimize supplier performance, identify business opportunities, strengthen strategic partnerships, and ensure alignment with IKEA’s business and sustainability goals while serving as the main business link between IKEA and suppliers.

You can also expect to:

  • Build and develop supplier partnerships through performance management, capability development, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive cost optimization and affordability by identifying best-buy opportunities and value chain improvements.
  • Lead supplier performance and business development through action plans and category strategy implementation.
  • Manage supplier transitions and sourcing changes to ensure business continuity and long-term competitiveness.
  • Provide market and supplier insights to support fact-based decision-making and strategic business growth.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, below competences are important for you.

  • At least 8 years of experience in Supply Chain, Sourcing, Procurement, Purchasing, or related business development environments.
  • A strong passion for business development, supplier partnerships, and value chain optimization.
  • Excellent relationship-building, communication, and negotiation skills with the ability to create win-win solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, using facts and data to drive decisions and business improvements.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset, with curiosity to identify opportunities, challenge the status quo, and drive continuous improvement.
  • The ability to lead projects, manage change, and collaborate effectively across suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • An interest in manufacturing, supply chains, and market dynamics, with a desire to continuously learn and develop industry knowledge.
  • Fluency in English and Vietnamese, both written and spoken, with confidence in presenting and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
