• As a lead market for the Group (within top 10), PR Japan is therefore strongly engaged in driving business growth through: increased # of brands activated, scaled-up investment, precision in consumer touchpoints allocation, strengthening marketing execution across on & off trade sales channels.
THE PORTFOLIO IN SCOPE
• Located in the Ultra Premium+ brand groups covering: 6 brands across Whisky, Champagne, Cognac and Wine categories.
JOB PURPOSE
• Contribute to the fast growth of the brand(s), through strong consumer recruitment and trade activation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Brand Planning & Execution
• With the support of the Marketing Manager and Senior Brand Manager, develop effective 12-months rolling brand plans and execute them with multi-functional teams to grow sales and equity.
• Prepare key brand presentations (including annual plans, quarterly updates & reviews) with a consistently high level, offering strategic insights and creative thinking.
• Discuss, update, and align with Brand Companies on Japan strategies and plans.
• Lead product launches including business case preparation, new SKU registration, trade announcement, sales presenter and back label development, closely working with the Logistic team and Brand Company
Activation planning, implementation & evaluation
• With the support of the Marketing Manager and Senior Brand Manager, define the most efficient investment mix across touchpoints to return on sales growth & equity building.
•In more details, develop & implement the following :
✓Last 3 feet Visiblity & Activation programs (including on trade, off trade & Ecommerce) - in collaboration with Trade Marketing & Sales teams,
✓Consumer and Trade Mentoring programs – in collaboration with sales team with the support of Brand Ambassadors,
✓Trade event (e.g. tasting seminars), influencer and/or media plans where relevant- in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders,
•Ensure a strong buy-in of Commercial and Trade Marketing teams to the plans, in order to secure a strong roll-out.
•Provide qualitative and quantitative evaluations of marketing activations both in terms of return on Sales and return on Equity.
• Regular analysis of key business metrics, including sales, market share, and pricing, with the support of the available reports/insights team, to make business recommendations and adapt the plans when/ if necessary.
Monitor and control operating costs and A&P expenditures to ensure alignment with agreed budgets/latest estimate.
Organization:
• 2/3 of role reporting to the Marketing Manager, Blended Scotch
• 1/3 of role reporting to the Senior Brand Manager, Champagne (dotted report)
PROFILE
Education:
• 4-year university graduate or above
Language:
• Native Japanese and fluent English in speaking/reading/ writing – must have excellent level of English, as this role requires daily interaction with several international stakeholders as well as the preparation/ presentations of extensive decks in English.
Experience:
• Min 4 years’ experience in Marketing with proven success in Brand Building.
• FMCG or luxury brands preferred.
• Experience in on-trade marketing is a plus.
• Experience in multi-brand marketing is a plus.
• Interest in western style spirits and champagne is a plus.
