OVERVIEW:
The BI Data & Reporting Developer I role will be a position in the supply chain domain with responsibilities of last mile solutions of data analytics; data analysis, report development/automation, dashboarding for self-service, and production support for the Supply Chain Ecosystem. This teammate will learn from senior members of the team and assist with data solutions. Additionally, they will strive to become one of the data experts for all areas of the Dick’s Supply Chain Ecosystem, aid senior Reporting Developers, and support other project goals.
Role Responsibilities:
Data & Analytics Solutions:
Utilizes modern tools and platforms (e.g. Cognos, SQL, Data Modules, Databricks, Google Cloud Platform, and PowerBI) and supply chain data sources (Warehouse Management, Labor Management, Parcel Logistics, Ecomm Order Management) to transform raw data into business insights.
Learns DKS operational processes for data analytics and aids in the development of complex data solutions. Assists in creating meaningful data modules/models and looks for opportunities to leverage and influence self-service dashboarding.
Becomes knowledgeable in the Supply Chain Ecosystem domains and makes actionable recommendations based on stakeholder needs and roadblocks.
Creation and maintenance of documentation (Confluence) to track reports, report use cases, data sources, and any manipulation of data in the reporting.
Production Support:
Attend meetings and provide insights to one of the supported supply chain teams about production data and integrations.
Learn and support legacy processes that exist to support current production systems.
Assist in modernization efforts by being a subject matter expert in one of the production team integrations to drive future products and reduce risks.
Create and manage alerting for the Warehouse management system to drive efficiencies in the Distribution Centers.
Relationship Building:
Independently builds strong relationships with business partners to understand the business needs and data and analytic challenges.
Partners with key internal business partners, external business partners, and tech partners to communicate data validation issues.
Training and Development:
Partner with business and tech stakeholders to gain an in-depth knowledge of operational and systemic processes.
Learns and applies both business knowledge and new modern data techniques.
Willing to explore new business intelligence tools (Explorations, Generative AI, Google Looker) to support modernization efforts within the Data and Analytics organization.
Educates and leads sessions with end users (supply chain and other organizations) to demonstrate how to effectively utilize last mile solutions.
Other Tasks:
Interprets business requirements to create Jira tasks, identify appropriate data sources, and chooses the best approach for final mile solution.
Manages Jira tickets by creating definitive tasks that will lead to value based on the business requirements without scope creep.
Manages ADHOC reporting requests to meet data visibility and insights for all available Supply Chain Data. Leverages Cognos, Excel files, and SQL to answer Supply Chain data needs from Distribution Center and Corporate teammates.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree BS in Management Information Systems, BS in Applied Data Analytics
1-3 years experience
Recommending and creating visualizations and self-service tools based on available data. Query information directly from Oracle and DB2 databases using IBM Cognos and SQL
