Vast is looking for an Avionics Test Technician reporting to the Manager of Avionics Testing, to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of human-rated space stations.

This will be a full-time, non-exempt position located in our Long Beach location.

Responsibilities: 

  • Maintain equipment calibration tracking for avionics test systems
  • Work with Metrology to coordinate equipment recalibration
  • Coordinate physical transfer as well as kitting of materials and components to support test system builds
  • Support manufacturing schedules by maintaining stock levels for consumable components
  • Support development, acceptance, qualification, and investigative test campaigns via build and operation of test systems
  • Have a working understanding of standard industry ESD best practices.
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Basic comprehension of electrical principles and wiring concepts including electrical safety
  • 1+ years of experience working in a manufacturing, test, operations, aerospace industry, or other relevant role
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Google Workspace
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • High School Diploma or equivalency certificate

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Strong documentation and communication skills
  • Experience in the aerospace industry, aviation, military, or other high-reliability operating environments
  • Metrology experience 
  • Knowledge of JIRA project management software and Confluence
  • Knowledge of computer applications and the ability to easily navigate through different computer software programs
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Comfortable working in a high-stress environment balancing several projects at any given time, and the flexibility to adjust for abrupt changes in strategic direction.
  • 2+ years of experience using electronics equipment (e.g. programmable power supplies, DMMs, oscilloscopes, etc.)
  • Experience with relevant aerospace testing standards (SMC-S-016, etc.)

Additional Requirements:

  • Willingness to work overtime, or weekends to support critical mission milestones
  • Ability to lift up to 25lbs unassisted
Pay Range: California
$26$36 USD
