Working alongside experienced underwriters, you'll learn how surety bonds support economic growth, commercial development, and infrastructure projects while helping businesses pursue new opportunities and fulfill contractual obligations.
The Details
Surety underwriting blends financial analysis, risk assessment, and relationship management. Throughout the program, you'll learn how to evaluate the financial strength, creditworthiness, and operational capabilities of businesses, while developing the judgment needed to make informed underwriting decisions. You'll gain hands-on experience analyzing financial statements, assessing credit and project risk, evaluating contracts, and supporting real underwriting decisions. At the same time, you'll build relationships with agents, brokers, customers, and industry partners while strengthening your communication, business development, and negotiation skills.

As part of the program, you'll pursue the Associate in Fidelity and Surety Bonding (AFSB) designation while applying underwriting concepts through case studies, financial analysis, contract evaluation, and project risk assessment.
