Job Overview:
The Associate Procurement Specialist utilizes existing Procurement procedures, and training, and is supported by senior team members and leaders to transact routine or standard sourcing and buying tasks. They receive instruction, guidance, and direction from others within the team, and they will leverage their conceptual knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures related to Procurement and Supply Chain. The Associate Procurement Specialist will have the authority to transact low-value commitments on behalf of the company.
ResponsibilitiesKey Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for basic purchasing of Corporate (indirect) materials and services at the best cost to MDR using procurement processes that maintain consistency with schedule requirements
- Develop relationships with suppliers
- Having knowledge of Terms and Conditions of Purchase and apply these T&C’s
- Selection of potential suppliers, preparation and obtaining approval of bidder’s lists
- Preparation of inquiries and obtaining of quotations
- Prepare and discuss commercial minutes of meetings with suppliers
- Reviewing the technical evaluation with the concerned technical expert / User
- Negotiations with potential suppliers
- Organize and lead meetings with (potential) suppliers
- Prepare commercial bid tabulations and obtain approval
- Place and administer purchase orders and purchase order supplements
- Maintain knowledge of the international market
Support finance to facilitate supplier’s payment
COMODITY/SERVICES HANDLED
- IT Procurement (Hardware/ Software)
- Corporate Facility procurement
- Frame Agreements (IT/ Facility / Hotels/ Travel/ Training/ HSE/ Consulting)
- Stationary (Amazon/ Third Party)
- Corp Merchandise (including Branded Goods, Gifts etc.)
- Total approximate annual spent: > 10 MUSD
Essential Qualifications and Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Commerce or related field
- 3-5 years of indirect procurement experience
- Strong sourcing, negotiation and supplier management skills
- ERP experience such as JDE, Oracle, Ariba or Coupa
