As a Contracts Specialist IT Student, you will support Irving Oil’s Supply Management team in delivering technology contracting solutions and risk mitigation strategies. This role provides hands-on experience in contract management, project support, and sourcing activities, while acting as a liaison between IT teams and vendors to ensure organizational technology needs are met.

The Supply Management team, based at the Irving Oil Home Office, develops and manages sourcing strategies, negotiates supplier agreements, and supports IT projects through contract oversight and sourcing activities. By ensuring compliance with policies and methodologies, the team helps mitigate risk, identify savings opportunities, and strengthen vendor relationships. Students will gain exposure to contract law, negotiation techniques, and project management fundamentals while contributing to measurable business results.

Responsibilities:  

  • Support the Supply Management team with special projects, applying creativity to deliver results

  • Assist in the implementation of business requirements and identification of savings opportunities

  • Review contracts and support execution of Supply Management policies and methodologies

  • Apply contract law concepts to support contract administration and compliance

  • Participate in project management activities, including setup, progress reporting, data analysis, and conclusions

  • Contribute to processes that track and report on opportunities and results, ensuring measurable improvements over time

Your Experience:  

  • Currently enrolled in Business Administration with a strong interest in supply management   

  • Must have completed at least one year of post-secondary education and be returning to school

  • Compensation – The weekly salary for this role will be based on your current work term. 1st - $795, 2nd - $875, 3rd and additional terms - $960
