Nitro is an AI-native data platform that democratizes life sciences data for non-technical commercial teams, turning fragmented HCP/HCO, prescription, and industry data into decisions the field can act on. Our team is seeking an Associate DevOps Engineer to support our business consulting team’s AWS and Kubernetes analytics infrastructure as part of the broader NitroAI Team. You'll work alongside the team keeping this platform reliable and secure, with real ownership over the pieces you run day to day. This role needs solid technical fundamentals, but just as important is a customer-service mindset: you'll be supporting internal engineering teams directly, so how you communicate, troubleshoot with empathy, and show up when something's broken matters as much as the fix itself.
What You'll Do
- Support day-to-day operation of the AWS and Kubernetes platform — monitoring reliability and performance, flagging issues before they become incidents for 50 person global consulting team
- Build & Maintain GitOps deployments: sync policies, deployment ordering, configuration management
- Support CI/CD pipelines: maintain GitLab pipelines and runners, help engineering teams troubleshoot failed builds and deployments
- Act as first responder on platform incidents: triage, escalate, and help document post-mortems
- Maintain platform observability: monitoring, alerting, and log visibility
- Migrate 50 person business consulting team onto a new AI native stack
- Support the building of our new AI native application NitroAI to learn Veeva methodology
Requirements
- 1+ years hands-on experience with AWS and Kubernetes
- Working knowledge of GitLab CI/CD, including runner management and Bash scripting for deployment tasks
- Familiarity with GitOps practices (ArgoCD or similar)
- Exposure to Terraform or another infrastructure-as-code tool
- Strong communication skills and a customer-service mindset — you're supporting people, not just infrastructure
- Comfortable being accountable to other engineers who are blocked and waiting on you
Nice to Have
- EKS/Kubernetes RBAC and IRSA experience
- Broader AWS fluency: Lambda, ALB, WAF, CloudFront, Secrets Manager, Route53, KMS, ECR
- Apache Airflow experience via MWAA
- Proficiency with Claude Code
- Exposure to compliance/security-baseline work
