Purpose

  • Become a domain area expert in cloud (AWS) management;
  • Lead and manage Cloud (AWS) Operation team to support FWD Group and BU to achieve business targets and goals;
  • Responsible for effective monitoring, reporting, security and lifecycle management on all cloud (AWS) services and proper training on the staffs involved in cloud (AWS) operations;
  • Expected to grow over time to incorporate additional responsibilities and opportunities as the cloud infrastructure or services expands.
     

Key accountabilities

  • Evaluate, respond to, and resolve service issues, design tools and automation to prevent problem recurrence;
  • Provide guidance to all support teams and services with cloud (AWS) questions, systems settings, problem resolution;
  • Manage security-related settings of cloud (AWS) environment, including compliance with ISO27001, PCI-DSS and other standards relevant to Insurance industry;
  • Work as a project lead to work with developers, security team and other project teams up to functional leads to create and maintain the cloud (AWS) infrastructure;
  • Create and maintain automated monitoring and reporting of cloud (AWS) infrastructure health, performance and cost control;
  • Manage the monitoring, updating, optimization, redundancy, stability of cloud (AWS) systems;
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code to improve accuracy and efficiency of cloud (AWS) operations;
  • Participate in any cloud (AWS) projects deemed necessary by the organization;
  • Ensure the team follow the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) in day-to-day operations;
  • Lead the cloud (AWS) operation team to provide day-to-day support of FWD Group & BU and 7x24 hours support for business systems and ensure the shared service provided meet defined SLA;
  • Manage implementation of cloud program by overseeing all project management activities;
  • Establishing strong relations and partnerships with major vendors and system integrators to work with them in maximizing FWD’s investment in new technology.

Qualifications / experience

  • Degree holder in Computer Science / Information Technology or equivalent with more than 10 years of relevant experience which at least 6 years in managerial level; Candidate with less experience will be considered as junior role
  • ITIL foundation certification with relevant experience in this area;
  • Holder of at least one of the following AWS Certification: AWS Solutions Architect, AWS DevOps Engineer, AWS Data Analytics, AWS Database, AWS Machine Learning or AWS Security;
  • Experience and knowledge of containers, orchestration tools and container administration, e.g. AWS EKS, Redhat Openshift, Kubernetes, etc.

Knowledge & technical skills

  • Advanced level in cloud (AWS) services, preferable with knowledge in multiple AWS services such as Compute, Storage, Containers, Serverless, Analytics, Database,  Management & Governance;
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of networking, in particular building cloud (AWS) networks and integrating them with on-premise networks in a secure and reliable manner;
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools like Ansible, Terraform;
  • Knowledge of DevSecOps is an asset;
  • Ability to participate in fast-paced DevOps and Engineering teams within Scrum agile processes;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English;
  • Perseverance and rigor in the tasks to accomplish;
  • Ability to respect his commitments, prioritize tasks and follow procedure;
  • Oriented on teamwork, collaboration and knowledge sharing;
  • Excellent problem solving skills;
  • Autonomy.
