Neuberger Berman is seeking a mid-level lawyer to provide general investment management and regulatory legal support. We are looking for a bright and enthusiastic individual who wants to “get the right thing done” for both the firm and the client. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for institutional and distribution matters relating to Neuberger Berman’s investment products and strategies across the EMEALA region, and should have a strong working knowledge of cross border distribution and fund structures (e.g. UCITS, SICAVs, QIAIFS), and demonstrable experience of negotiating investment management agreements.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Drafting and negotiating a range of agreements, including investment management agreements, distribution agreements, rebate agreements, and side letters for institutional and intermediary clients.
- Drafting a wide range of commercial contracts such as vendor contracts, non-disclosure agreements, and marketing agreements.
- Advising on financial services regulations such as MIFID II, DORA, AIFMD, SFDR, EMIR etc.
- Advising on data protection and artificial intelligence, negotiating data processing agreements, and drafting privacy policies.
- Reviewing and drafting RFP responses or marketing materials.
- Drafting and maintaining standard documents and templates.
- Maintaining contract databases, intercompany agreements, and internal procedures.
- Assisting the Legal team in maintaining and growing its know-how and precedents database.
- Liaising with outside counsel as appropriate.
- Providing legal support to the business on ad hoc legal matters or projects.
- Working closely with the client services, investment, risk, and sales teams to identify issues and negotiate resolution
Key Requirements / Qualifications: (essential unless otherwise stated)
- Strong commercial experience (4-7 years’ PQE) spent at a leading law firm or a well-regarded investment management firm.
- Qualified to practice law in England or Ireland.
- Excellent drafting, communication (written and verbal), and negotiation skills.
- Strict attention to detail.
- Ability to spot and solve problems.
- Ability to learn quickly and work independently.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate confidently with external clients and senior stakeholders.
- Keen interest in the evolving financial services regulatory landscape and working knowledge of existing regulations.
