Summary Generated by Built In

The Assistant Business Manager supports RepoClear, EquityClear and Collateral & Liquidity Management (CaLM) by providing high‑quality business insight, governance and operational oversight. The role plays a key part in helping the business understand performance, emerging trends and changes in client behaviour! It requires strong analytical capability combined with business judgement — understanding what information is most relevant, how it should be interpreted, and how best to present it to different audiences, including senior leadership. Power BI is a meaningful tool for the role, but equal emphasis is placed on insight, narrative and transparency of communication rather than technical complexity alone.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver commercial and operational analysis across RepoClear, EquityClear and CaLM, identifying material trends, data movements and changes in client behaviour, and translating these into clear, decision‑focused insight.

  • Work in close partnership with Finance on budgeting, forecasting, revenue and cost analysis, providing clear variance analysis and forward‑looking commentary.

  • Develop and maintain management information that focuses on what matters most to the business, applying judgement to ascertain key data measurements, trends and drivers

  • Use Power BI or similar to design and maintain clear, intuitive dashboards and reporting that bring together multiple data sources, supporting consistent understanding of performance across the business.

  • Support continuous improvement through automation, improved reporting approaches and more effective use of data and systems.

  • Contribute to the development of consistent MI and reporting standards across the team.

Skills and Experience

  • Experience in a Business Management, MI, COO, Finance or Commercial Analytics role within financial services

  • Strong analytical skills (!), with the ability to interpret large and complex datasets, identify key trends and drivers, and understand their relevance to the business and client activity.

  • Proven Power BI capability, including building and maintaining dashboards and working with multiple data sources, with a focus on clear insight and usability

  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills, including the ability to prepare senior‑ready materials.

  • Ability to decide what information to surface and how to present it, rather than relying on detailed direction.

  • Confidence in explaining data and analysis to a range of partners, including senior leaders, at the right level of detail to support understanding and decision‑making.

  • Comfortable working remotely within a central team, managing priorities across multiple partners in a fast‑paced, matrix environment.
