Overview
The Small Business Segment team drives opportunities within South Asia to grow and defend our business in a profitable and sustainable manner.
Our key activities include:• Identifying and developing new business,• Identifying and driving strategic partnerships, and• Providing deep sales expertise to our partners to power their growth.
The Manager, Specialist Sales, based in Colombo, Sri Lanka will be part of the Commercial and New Payments Flow team, which is responsible for advancing Mastercard's small business efforts in Sri Lanka, Maldives, Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan. This position reports to the Vice President, Small Business Segment Lead, South Asia Division.
The individual will be responsible for driving strategy, business development, analysis, and reporting. This role will serve as the single point of contact for all SME business development and sales to external partners.
Role
The key objectives of this role are to drive the growth of Small Business portfolios and achieve agreed targets in terms of new wins, spend volumes, revenue, and market share through the following activities:
• Possess deep knowledge of payment market products and programs from the perspective of issuers, acquirers, and end-user clients. Develop strategies and recommend new, differentiated features and benefits to enhance sales and optimization strategies for existing and prospective bank partners, third-party partners, fintech companies, and the startup community to drive new business and incremental growth for Mastercard's Small Business portfolio.• Collaborate with multiple stakeholders across Account Teams, Marketing, Loyalty, Finance, Pricing & Interchange, Franchise, Legal, and Customer Delivery, as well as third-party partners, to support new launches and go-to-market initiatives.• Provide consultative sales enablement, especially during complex and cross-departmental discussions, through a combination of functional expertise and a thorough understanding of Mastercard's assets.• Champion digital enablement (e.g., digital-first, contactless, tokenization) within the Small Business space and drive adoption with a best-in-class customer experience.• Effectively communicate the launch of new products, services, platforms, and/or enhancements to internal stakeholders and external customers through bulletin announcements, briefing sessions, PR, etc.
