This position is responsible for managing and maintaining Cox Automotive's (CAI) chart of accounts ensuring that the COA meets the information needs of management, as well as financial reporting standards. This position will also be responsible for all aspects of the Cox Automotive BlackLine-related processes. The Analyst II - BlackLine and Chart of Accounts is responsible for assisting with the adoption, and optimization of the BlackLine tool, including journal entries, account reconciliations, match sets, and financial close tasks. This role will consult with and support business partners, end-users (Enterprise Accounting, Finance, Operations) and the IT team on a regular basis. Effective management of BlackLine is a responsibility that will enable Cox Automotive to optimize and mitigate risk in its processes.
The ideal candidate will have strong accounting, master data, continuous process improvement, change management, governance, and communication experience.
Job Responsibilities:
- Support day-to-day activities of the Process Center of Excellence and Accounting Center of Excellence and their end-users as they relate to BlackLine and maintaining the COA.
- Assist with partnering with the IT/BlackLine developers and maintenance team to build and test enhancements to current processes.
- Support BlackLine training efforts as new users are onboarded to the tool
- Use data analysis to drive account reconciliation, journal entry, and financial close reporting through BlackLine (i.e., aged items, unreconciled balances, overdue close tasks)
- Execute on a metrics and performance strategy, driving measurable business results and tracking adoption of BlackLine
- Accountable for all process standards relating to BlackLine and managing and maintaining the COA including data, reporting, systems security, compliance, financial controls, change management and process excellence
- Support operational readiness and change management approach to accompany BlackLine changes, to drive business adoption and organizational agility
- Assist in leading a robust governance process for modifying the COA, which includes leading the COA Steering Committee meetings and providing COA metrics on a monthly basis
- Support relationships with COA Steering Committee meeting members and leaders across the IT and Accounting organization.
- Ability to identify improvement opportunities based on COA usage, governance adherence, etc., including plan to address them.
- Assist in Identifying, governing, and prioritizing Chart of Accounts- related technology enhancements, while partnering with Technology to build and test enhancements to current processes.
- Work with internal and external auditors annually and/or as needed based on their requests for information.
- Ability to identify, communicate, and resolve issues and risks early to facilitate month-end close activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance and/or Accounting with 2+ years of accounting or finance experience. A candidate may also have a Master's Degree with generally 2 years of experience or a Ph.D. with 1+ year of experience. A non-degreed candidate will have 6+ years of experience.
- 1+ years of BlackLine experience preferred
- Experience in managing and maintaining master data and/or a chart of accounts
- Experience in organizational change - including large scale transformation initiatives
- Global experience in a multinational organization a plus
- Proven ability to influence and to collaborate with business partners
- Background in financial close process optimization and related controls
- Experience with continuous improvement and project management - Six Sigma Green Belt and/or PMP a plus
- Proven ability to deliver high levels of customer service
- Demonstrated financial analysis strength
- Experience within a CoE environment a plus
- Strong troubleshooting, configuration, navigation skills across BlackLine modules

USD 65,500.00 - 98,300.00 per year
Compensation:
Compensation includes a base salary of $65,500.00 - $98,300.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
