Role Overview
Brown Brothers Harriman is currently recruiting an AI Product Engineer to join our fast-paced Innovation team! In this role you will work as part of a high-performance team responsible for the discovery of new digital products, services, and businesses from idea through Minimum Valuable Product.
The AI Product Engineer will be tasked to work closely with our business stakeholders to ideate, validate, design and build prototypes for AI-powered products, in our newly created innovation lab. Strong cross-functional communication skills are a must as the successful candidate will work in a multi-disciplinary squad format with the goal to prototype and validate concepts, then present their work and finding to a group of senior leaders.
Our aim is to leverage both ML and LLMs to address problems that are currently unsolved in our industry, and we consequently look for forward-thinking and perseverant individuals who also can explain complicated concepts in clear language to subject-matter experts. We focus on gathering evidence before making decisions, and this role will be critical in that context.
The successful candidate will:
- Participate in the collaborative definition of the vision for new products, services or businesses.
- Continuously iterate solution concepts using all manner of methods, from architecture diagrams to technical proof-of-concepts and full-fledged prototypes.
- Help build an AI center of excellence within our team, through training, process refinement, experimentation and evaluation.
Responsibilities:
- How might we build AI systems that prevents hallucinations from becoming a factor in our regulated environment?
- How might we implement AI agents in particularly secure and sensitive contexts with confidence?
- How do we build self-healing systems that improve over time?
- How do we evaluate the tradeoffs between multiple AI implementation options?
Job Requirements
- Deep understanding of ML and LLM pipelines. This includes fine-tuning, GenAI, RAG, but also data science algorithms, data-structure, knowledge graphs best practices and their integration into business processes.
- Proficiency in writing clean and efficient code and deploying services on cloud computing platforms, and familiarity with AI/ML libraries and tools.
- Strong understanding of the Product Development Lifecycle, to adjust experiments and knowledge sharing sessions in response to the current stages of our concepts.
- Continuously evaluate the models being published and the techniques being shared in the AI ecosystem.
- Support internal knowledge sharing about AI current trends and practice, so the team is also up to date with the market capabilities.
- Have stellar communication skills, especially the ability to deeply listen and clearly explain.
- Bonus: Strong knowledge of the Azure AI Platform and/or LLM Orchestration and observability.
Desired Experience
- 3+ years of professional experience in Product-focused Engineering and/or AI Engineering, with a track-record of products delivered to the market.
- Practical experience in designing, implementing, deploying and analyzing state-of-the-art models and/or expertise in explainability methods.
- Experience and understanding of digital product and service design and development, working within, or alongside an innovation or product team.
- Have demonstrated end-to-end ownership of projects.
