This is an excellent opportunity to join a global multinational and gain exposure to all aspects of the finance function. The successful candidate will work closely with the Finance Manager and European Financial Controller, gaining hands-on experience in the day-to-day running of the finance function. Responsibilities
- Take ownership of Month End, Quarter End, and Year End close processes for various European legal entities
- Prepare and post general ledger entries throughout the month and at period end
- Manage and submit government returns as required
- Support interim and year-end audit processes, including:
- Preparing the year-end audit file
- Acting as a key point of contact for the audit team
- Preparing year-end statutory reports
- Prepare and reconcile balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy of all entries
- Manage accruals and prepayments
- Ensure smooth day-to-day finance operations, including:
- Employee expenses
- Cash management
- Monthly payroll
- Identify and implement continuous improvements in finance processes and controls
- Provide functional advice, support, and training to team members as needed
- Support ad-hoc analysis and project work
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting
- Proven computer literacy, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail; "audit ready" mindset at all times
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
- SAP experience
- Experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to interpret and explain financial performance
