We are looking for an experienced, dynamic accountant who is willing to tackle a variety of challenges and projects across the company. You will have exposure to many aspects of the business and coordinates with a number of divisions including merchandising, operations, project and fixed assets accounting, tax accounting, accounts payable, and plant accounting teams.

Education and Experience:                                                                                

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

  • 2 years of accounting experience

  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles

  • Knowledge of the agricultural production industry preferred

  • Strong attention to detail, deadlines, planning, problem solving and decision-making skills

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Skill in using Microsoft Office products required, knowledge of Oracle general ledger system desired but not required

  • Possesses a high degree of integrity and trust

In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of accounting tasks, including general ledger entries, reconciling monthly accounts, and preparing financial/operating reports. In addition, you will perform financial analysis and assist in developing accounting systems and controls.

Job Functions:

  • Prepare, analyze, distribute various financial statements and operational reports for management, applications for external agencies and organizations

  • Maintain financial records of the organization by entering journal entries and reconciling various general ledger accounts

  • Ability to communicate effectively with other departments

  • Assist the Accounting Manager in maintaining the daily functions of the department

  • Assist in developing accounting systems and controls

  • Performs other special projects and duties as assigned by management

Ag Processing Inc a cooperative (AGP®) is a farmer-owned cooperative engaged in the procurement, processing, marketing, and transportation of grains and grain products.
