The Role / Position Overview

Reporting to the Head of US Trading & Planning, the Account Planner will provide comprehensive sales planning and commercial support for key advertising clients and media agencies across the US.

Working closely with Account Directors and teams across the FT, you will help develop advertising solutions spanning our print, digital, audio, content and events portfolio. This is an opportunity to build broad commercial experience while developing a strong understanding of our clients, audiences and products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with Account Directors to support sales planning, client accounts and new business opportunities across B2B sectors.
  • Develop RFP responses and proposals using FT audience insights, research, pricing and solutions across print, digital, audio, content and events.
  • Understand client objectives and recommend relevant FT advertising solutions.
  • Support client and agency relationships, including meetings, queries and day-to-day account coordination.
  • Work with Campaign Management and Ad Operations to support campaign delivery, performance and optimisation.
  • Collaborate across FT teams and maintain accurate client, opportunity and pipeline information in Salesforce.
Required Skills / Experience
  • Strong communication, organisation and attention to detail, with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Commercial curiosity and an analytical attitude, with the ability to turn data and insights into useful recommendations.
  • A proactive, collaborative approach to problem solving and relationship building.
  • Strong Google Workspace, Excel and PowerPoint skills; Salesforce or other CRM experience is useful.
  • An interest in global business and current affairs, with enthusiasm for the FT and its commercial portfolio.
  • Approximately 1–2 years of relevant business experience preferred; media, advertising, publishing or agency experience is advantageous but not essential.

We currently operate a hybrid model which requires staff to work onsite 50% of the time, subject to role requirements & regular review. Further Information

A reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role is $66,330–$68,000 base salary, with expected on-target earnings (OTE) of approximately $79,500–$82,000. To ensure pay fairness, the successful candidate will be offered a salary within the estimated salary range based on a number of considerations including but not limited to: skills; experience and training; certifications; and other business and organisational needs. The disclosed range estimate is for our NYC office and has not been adjusted for other locations.
