As an entry-level technology employee, you'll take part in our six-month TechStart Program - an immersive, collaborative experience designed to develop high-performing engineers who are grounded in engineering fundamentals and ready to contribute to future-facing work. The TechStart Program is designed to help you grow - pairing strong engineering foundations with hands-on experience that builds your skills, judgment, and confidence. You'll begin by building the foundations and readiness to contribute - getting grounded in Liberty, our ways of working, and the essential technical and durable skills that set you up for success. From there, you'll join an engineering team and develop real capability through work that matters, strengthening your skills in context with clear, guided support from a dedicated mentor and an engaged cohort community alongside you throughout.
As you grow, you'll contribute to a culture of code quality and sound security practices, deepen your understanding of architecture and modern engineering principles, and build fluency in AI-assisted development. You'll be a valued, contributing member of an agile team working to solve complex business problems by delivering high-quality software that creates an outstanding experience for our customers - learning not just how to build, but why , while gaining exposure to emerging technologies including agentic AI.

Qualifications
- You have 0-2 years of related professional experience.
- You hold, or will be completing, a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, a related technical discipline or have equivalent certifications or experience.
- You can write, test, and debug code in one or more software development languages
- You have a general knowledge of design and development tools, version control, and the software development lifecycle
- You have exposure to and are curious about how AI and AI-assisted development tools are reshaping modern software engineering, and ready to build fluency in them
- You bring learning agility, critical thinking, and sound judgment - you ask why before jumping to how
- You have a focus on continuous learning, a growth mindset, and accountability for your work
- You collaborate well with others and keep the customer in mind
- You are fully authorized to work in the U.S. without restrictions
Pay Philosophy: The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
