Role Overview:
The Learning & Knowledge Management Center of Excellence creates opportunities that connect employees, share insights, and strengthen capabilities for continuous growth. We are seeking a motivated Learning Experience Intern to join the Learning & Knowledge Management (L&KM) Center of Excellence at New York Life Group Benefit Solutions (NYL GBS). In this role, you'll help create holistic learning solutions that foster connection, build commitment, and support continuous skill development. As part of our Learning Experience team, you'll contribute to daily initiatives, develop impactful content, and support innovation in how employees learn and grow. This internship offers hands-on experience through real projects alongside a team of experienced learning professionals.
This internship is a 10-week long program located in our Chattanooga office. Our program provides an opportunity for interns to gain exposure to different areas of expertise to aid in their career search, experience New York Life's business values and corporate culture, contribute to project work across the organization, and participate in activities to develop and expand their professional skills.
What You'll Do:
As a Learning Experience intern, you will collaborate with our teams on impactful, forward-thinking projects that drive business growth through creativity and innovation. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience through learning projects that align to our business needs.
Projects may include the following:
  • Curate learning resources to support skill development.
  • Develop microlearning modules (e.g. short video or eLearning) using tools like Vyond or Articulate Rise.
  • Design employee-facing materials such as infographics, templates, playbooks, or videos.
  • Review learning programs and evaluate effectiveness through survey data, learner feedback, and metrics.
  • Partner with subject matter experts to create accessible job aids, quick reference guides, or FAQs.
  • Build a learning campaign (communications and materials) around a key business skill or need.

What You'll Bring:
You bring excellent written and oral communication skills, a strong desire to learn and identify improvement opportunities, and the ability to think strategically and analytically, inspiring innovation and new ways of working.
Required Skills:
You must be a rising junior pursuing a degree at an accredited college or university
Preferred Skills:
  • Initiative: Takes ownership of tasks, asks clarifying questions, and seeks solutions.
  • Creativity: Interest in making learning engaging through design ideas, visuals, or interactivity.
  • Organization: Ability to manage deadlines, track project steps, and keep files structured.
  • Adult Learning Principles: Knowledge of adult learning principles or interest in workplace learning/education.
  • Video/Learning Development: Basic experience with eLearning/video tools (Articulate, Captivate, Camtasia, Vyond).

Salary range: $21
Overtime eligible: Nonexempt

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
