The intern also assists with special projects and daily Desktop Services operations while building professional and technical skills through the summer internship program.

Supports UX research and design for agent portals by conducting interviews, usability testing, surveys, workflow evaluations, and accessibility reviews. Creates user flows, journey maps, wireframes, prototypes, and other UX artifacts. Collaborates with product, engineering, QA, and business stakeholders to translate feedback into designs, recommendations, and reusable UX patterns.

The intern will learn commercial insurance policy formation, assist underwriters with day-to-day operations, and contribute to projects serving insureds and agents. Strong attention to detail, communication, organization, multitasking, and intermediate Microsoft Word and Excel skills are required. This is an onsite internship in Edina, Minnesota.

Supports the Claims team with coverage research, claim documentation, data collection and entry, investigations, compensability assessments, bill and estimate reviews, reserve updates, and customer service. The intern may attend inspections, depositions, court appearances, and mediations, collaborate with underwriters, agents, vendors, and insureds, and assist with other projects while learning about insurance careers.

Supports data engineering projects involving enterprise data warehousing, ETL/ELT workflows, data integration, automation, troubleshooting, testing, documentation, and data security. Works with SQL Server, SSIS, Snowflake, Python, and Agile practices alongside experienced engineers and business partners.

Designs, develops, tests, deploys, and supports high-impact software applications. Leads code reviews, production issue resolution, automation, technical documentation, and process improvements. Collaborates with product and cross-functional teams, evaluates complex technical solutions, promotes engineering standards, and mentors developers. The role also supports project planning, quality software releases, and continuous improvement across the development organization.

Supports the Application Support team with user management, system configuration, documentation, end-user support, training, data cleanup, migration, integration, and issue resolution. The intern also assists with underwriting projects and professional development activities while maintaining accuracy, managing multiple tasks, and following established procedures.

Provides administrative underwriting support by indexing documents, entering new business submissions, identifying duplicates, updating reports, answering questions, and assisting with special projects. The role requires accurate data entry, process adherence, organization, communication, customer service, and collaboration with underwriting teams and internal departments.

Supports Auto, Property, and Workers’ Compensation claims teams through coverage research, claim investigation, documentation, data entry, reporting, bill and estimate review, reserve updates, and customer service. Leads enterprise business analysis for data warehouse and data modernization initiatives. Manages requirements lifecycles, analyzes complex business and technical issues, supports troubleshooting and production resolution, guides product teams, develops reporting and metrics, improves processes, and mentors analysts. The role requires advanced SQL, data warehouse, ETL/ELT, data modeling, data quality, cloud platform, Agile, and stakeholder collaboration expertise.

Designs, deploys, maintains, and monitors scalable cloud and on-premise platforms. The role focuses on AWS, Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, automation, system reliability, outage resolution, security best practices, fault tolerance, load testing, and production troubleshooting. It partners with product teams on deployments, infrastructure improvements, technical projects, documentation, mentoring, and adoption of modern platform technologies, including participation in a monthly on-call rotation.
